Scola would be a great pickup. He'd help make Jones expendable and add another veteran leader to the team.

Him being able to hit a mid range jumper is sorely needed. Even just playing 10-15 min a game to run pick and pop with harden wouod be sick needed change of pace to our offense. Not to mention give James some easier trips down the court on the offensive end to conserve energy knowing scola can actually make a jumper.

Would love to have him back, he was one of my favorite Rockets...that performance he and the Rockets put on the Lakers in the playoffs was amazing (remember the one where it became a blowout in the first couple minutes).

    Against 2nd and 3rd units?
I'd predict that he'd hold his own in the clutch in a few playoff games next year. Assuming he's here of course.

Surprised no one has posted this:

Scola is a consummate professional. I hope he retires a Rockets.

Yeah, you're right against 2nd and 3rd units he should be serviceable. We still need a serious upgrade at the 4 though .

Scola was amnestied to clear cap space for super star free agents (Dwight) and as part of the soft "tank" that Morey seemed to finally embrace. Scola (and the other left over role players like Lowry, Budinger, Patterson) were just good enough to be a .500 team and nine seed in the West, but not good enough without an anchoring star to be a legitimate playoff team.

As soon as Howard joined the Harden Rockets, I felt it was ironic that probably the perfect fit at four would be Scola, at least the Scola of 2009-12.

Love Scola, but I'm not sure if Beard & Dwert would like it.
