I remember last season hearing criticism of Vince for being soft, pulling a Chris Webber and settling for jumpers instead of taking it inside. And this seemed even more the case when the Raptors started winning without him. Aldridge says Vince was injured but is back now with a vengeance. What do you guys think? Is Aldridge right? Could Vince have a big year this year? I must say I'm not looking forward to having a young Yao Ming and Eddie Griffin waiting for Vince the first game after he blows by whoever we have guarding him at SF. Even though Yao's played against him at the WBC, I still feel like he could quite easily get posterized the first game, coming to help too late. I guess Rice will start the game, given Rudy's policy about not losing a starting position unless Rice isn't completely healthy, but I'd rather throw KT at Vince and see how he handles him. No one can stop Vince, but if KT can slow him down (and with shotblockers behind him, it might not be that farfetched), I think KT will be able to handle anyone.
The whole problem with Toronto is not just Vince, they whole team is soft. They have no help in the middle at all and Davis is too small to player center on a regular basis.
Conventional NBA doctrine says you need two superstars. So far we have one. He and KG need to hookup. Or, maybe Kidd will head to Toronto...
