I feel like im on the verge of becoming one. Maybe Im just stressing out too much with work, school, and family. Perfect candidate. I noticed some physical addiction. I drink a beer and feel relaxed and the mental stress off.

Uhhmm.. sometimes. I feel drinking a beer right now. I would heavily drink on special occasions with a friend or at a party. Every weekend.

When it comes to alcoholism, what's the difference between drinking X beers by yourself and drinking X beers with other people?

I think it's different in a social setting.

I don't think drinking to relax makes you an alcoholic. Can you enjoy yourself without drinking? If you start drinking can you stop before you're completely wasted? Does drinking affect your work and family life? Do you plan out your day around your next drink? Do you hide alcohol? Have you ever experienced blackouts our detox tremors?

I may or may not be in recovery .

Probably because in situation A you're drinking just to get drunk.

In situation B, you may be doing it because you enjoy the company of other people, or a particular food, etc.

Has drinking affected your social or work life adversely?

checke64, te invito una no-alcohólica... tiene el sabor, pero no la adicción. Cuando quieras. Poco a poco no te va a gustar.

I invite you to drink a non-alcoholic. It has the flavor, but not the addiction. Whenever you want. Little by little, you won't like it.

    ON ME.
If I see that drinking X beers makes you sick or queasy or dizzy or anything out of your normal self, I will not let you drink X+1. That's just me, man.

I think it's just a bad sign. Why would you be drinking alone? Seems kinda pointless unless you have a problem.

    That there is another level.
    I can stop.
    I can enjoy myself.
I sipped some liquor before I went to work a while back
    I don't plan.
    I don't hide
    No blackouts.

Is it considered "alone" if you have a wife and dogs in the house?

I really don't care, shut up and quit judging me.

Yup, waiting for the drive home for the 16 ounce "alone" time in the car. With all of the rain and traffic, I might have to step it up to a 24 ouncer.

Even if it's by yourself, it's hardly alcoholism. If it's just a beer or so after work to relax - not a big deal. It does become alcoholism when you start substituting alcohol instead of eating and when you literally pass out drinking by yourself at home. I've been there, and this is hardly alcoholism.

I was shaking a bit. Haven't eaten anything all day and just had my first beer since Clutchfans say it's ok.

Thank swoly D for the invite. My secretary advised me.
