Apparently the Packers are going to release AL Harris rather than add him to the active roster off the PUP list. So given the total lack of ability in our secondary it seems like it can't hurt to bring in the vet. thoughts? http://nfl-facts-and-rumors.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22475988/25735207
Effing bring him in. He can't POSSIBLY be worse than anything we have right now. Plus, the dude, at one point in his career, was an elite corner. I bet he's chock full o' knowledge for the young'ns.
I'm all for it but Lance Z. just said the reason they are releasing him is because they think he might still be injured.
Actually Lance said there was questions when he was injured last year as to whether he could continue his career. He has been practicing for the last 3 weeks but basically the Packers have no need for him as their secondary is playing at a very high level. At the very least they should bring him in and work him out. If he can practice for the Packers, he should be able to start for us easily.
At this point you have nothing to lose. If anything, just bring him in to please the fans, even if his career is done... at least make it look like you're trying.
Absolutely no reason why they shouldn't have him on a plane to Houston the second he walks out of the Green Bay offices with his release.
Kubiak will "stick with his guys, Battlin'" Go ahead and file this under, "Kubiak is so conservative..."
I thought of this too...yes, i still think he is injured, but can't be any worse than whats out there now... what do you have to lose...his knowledge and tecnique alone would be an upgrade
If all he does is take KJ and GQ under his wing and tutors them for the rest of the year, he'll be worth his weight in gold. One of the lines I heard during the fall-out from yesterday's game which is VERY accurate, if you ask me, went something like "you can't take the chalkboard onto the field." Meaning you can't teach and teach and teach and then expect for the young guys to just go out there and execute flawlessly. The Texans for whatever reason have decided they don't need any veteran experience in the defensive backfield and now these, umm, kids are having to figure things out on their own with live bullets facing the likes of Peyton, McNabb, Romo, Eli, and Rivers. I'm hoping they come out of this experience better for having gone through it, but I fear it will be at the expense of this season's success.
The Texans will NEVER bring him in. It just makes too much sense. As Kubiak said in the presser once again this week "we're sticking with our young guys."
