What's currently going on with Al Harrington? I thought his contract was expiring this summer, but I haven't heard about where he could be going. Would he be worth pursuing this summer?
With today's agreement between the Knicks and Amare, and with the Knicks likely wanting to hold onto David Lee's cap hold in order to leave the avenue open for a sign-and-trade deal, it looks like TODAY officially marks the end of Harrington's tenure in New York. Where does he go? Who knows? I know the Rockets have always liked him. But I don't think he's a fit now with the Rockets jam-packed with quality PF depth.
Ever since he flamed and burned in the playoff series against the Mavs, I've put Al Harrington into the "no heart" category. He would fit on a veteran team as a 7th/8th man. If a team has to rely on him, they are doomed.
Al Harrington Isn't he a free agent also this year? Not the best player in the world but someone we haven't heard a lot about. He's not a stiff and a decent offensive player. Anyone heard anything about where he's going?
If our roster depth is depleted some in a sign and trade, Harrington might could be an interesting addition. Does he strictly play power forward now? I always thought of him as a small forward.
he's pretty underrated. he can really give a team a nice scoring punch off the bench, and can create a tough mismatch when he plays the 4. i don't think contending teams will be interested because of his lack of effort on defense, and poor playoff performances. he's not young enough for rebuilding teams to want to add to a young core. i would say his best bet is to sign with teams projected to be on the bubble for the playoffs.
he's a bone headed scorer, when he is hot, he can score like a all star but when he is not, he will force the issues (turnover). He is a poor man odom.
Are you serious? Al Harrington is the prototypical definition of Stat-padder, I'm sure his lackluster play on D, sub-par rebounding, constant chucking and diva attitude would have raised red flags in all of Rox brass' analytics.
You know it's bad when Don Nelson thinks you lack discipline on offense. That said, he's really a great guy to have coming off your bench.
he can really stretch the floor with his shooting ability but he can be soft at times. id rather go for a younger and more athletic player like randolph.
