I heard that they were giving this away as a prize on 610 am. If you are a golf fanatic like me you realize that there is no quick fix for the game, but when you are inundated with this commercial on the Golf Channel and ESPN and now on 610 you get curious. I admit it, I fell for it. On my birthday late last year I bought all three DVD's and watched them. OK, for those of you who want to spend $100+ of your own money stop reading now because now, for the first time, (SPOILER BELOW!!) MULDER REVEALS THE TRUTH ABOUT GOLF!!! Golf is a sport that involves hand eye coordination and thus, there is no "perfect swing". The club face has to make contact with the proper part of the ball (the back to be exact). The arms and wrists create a two hinged lever that increases power if they are used properly. For these reasons... (you sure you are ready for the truth...it could melt your brain... OK here goes..). in order to improve in the game of golf, you have to ... practice... a lot. Ya that's it. That's the DVD. He then shows you some swing thoughts like imagining a ball with a long nail pointed at the target and using the club as a hammer, and using contact tape to see where you are hitting the ball with the club face. Needless to say I sent the DVD's back for a full refund, keeping the short game DVD as my free gift. Oh and by the way, the putting DVD "the Truth about Putting" says that you should practice "free throws" (5 foot putts, @ around 100 a day) to improve your putting. Hope I saved you some money...
I prefer to save money by playing Disc Golf rather than regular golf. It is 100x cheaper, and much, MUCH easier to be good at it.
Dude, go around! If you hit the side chutes just right, it will ricochet right into the hole. Avoid those blades altogether!
right on. i cant wait for the weather to get better so i can start playing again. my mom got me a disc golf cage for my bday. ive been practicing my putts in my back yard.
yo mulder nice thread, i am obsessed w/ golf also, and cant help but wanna get the AJ golf video b/c it finally says its not about the swing, so its very interesting, thanks for letting us know about it, i almost bought it but now i might not, so thats all it really talked about aye? damn , oh well , i tried email but it didnt let me lata
Ya dude, the DVD sucked and when I called them and said I wanted my money back they asked why. I said "if you think telling people that they need to practice golf to get better is a freaking news flash you are dead wrong." The lady said that it was not the first time she had heard that... I guess everybody else is too lazy to send it back. I should have known it was a scam when the younger guy in the commercials wearing a blue shirt says that he dropped his handicap by 10 strokes is in the videos wearing the EXACT same thing! Hogan was right, the secret to the game of golf is found in the dirt you shovel up after hours and hours at the range.
All the gimmicks on the market to help improve the "Hackers" (Amateur golfers) golf game are just that, gimmicks. With a few tips that you can get from watching The Golf Channel or watching a PGA Tournament and lots of practice using these tips, any golfer can improve their game. The trick is not to get caught up in too many tips. Thinking too much is the problem with 90% of the weekend golfer (which I am one). The trick is to learn the fundamentals of the swing, driving, iron play, short game and putting. Once you learn the basics, practice them a lot. There are no shortcuts to being a better golfer. Stop relying on gimmicks to improve your game. Good old fashioned hard work is whats needed. Next lesson...The Art of Concentration
Was it Gary Player who said: "I'd rather be lucky than good."? Of course he followed that up with: "The strange thing is, the more I practice, the luckier I get." I always loved that quote. I'm a frustrated 16-handicapper though.
I heard you on 610 last night calling about of all things, golf, the first time I heard you call, I wondered were you the same Mulder, but then yesterday, you actually told those guys to check out this site, too funny. I call in that show sometimes too.
If it's that easy to be good at, then what's the point? I'd rather play a sport where, after a lot of practice, I can hit a shot as good as almost any pro - part of the time.
I always keep my promises For those of you who really want to improve your golf game, this site is a great place to help you improve: http://www.golfpositive.com/action-show-page.do?page=page-site-home I highly recommend the Mind Zone lessons.
I don't know anybody who likes golf. I know a whole lot of people who are addicted to it. Me? I think watching grass grow is more exciting than golf.
