Grant hill definitely let the ball go through his legs.... why I dont know... He could have easily stopped it...
I fail to see what's so impressive about that. It was essentially a full-court bounce pass. The "between the legs" part is pretty disingenuous considering Hill created the scenario himself by opening up his legs (for lack of a better phrase) in the path of the ball.
"essentially a full-court bounce pass" = is impressive in its own right try doing it standing still at a still target, then try doing it standing still at a moving target, then try doing it while running at a moving target... that's just crazy. it helped that grant hill missed the kickball.
It's a pretty difficult pass for the length it was as a bounce pass, but to say he passed it through Hill's legs is a stretch. It looked more like Hill stepped over it. I'm not sure why he didn't try stopping it or deflecting it.
It is pretty obvious that Grant Hill was trying to kick the ball with his left leg. Apparently he is not a good soccer player.
Yeah, that would look stupid if it hit Hill's legs. It's a great pass because Hill did not expect AI to pass from that far so he was trying to recovery and missed, failing to kick the ball.
My guess is that had AI not put spin on the ball, Hill would have gotten the kickball. The spin gave an unexpected bounce just before Hill got to it.
That's a great pass. But he's not the only one who has done that. I remember seeing Kidd do it once for an even longer distance. I think Drexler did it too when he was with Portland. And I am pretty sure Jason Williams did that several times in his career.
