Wow... talk about blowing somehting way out of proportion. This is a nice little microcosm of the ultrasensitive tit-for-tat nature of Israeli diplomacy.
Nah, I think it's a case of extreme stupidity on the airline's part. You bought planes from an anti-Israel charter company and didn't bother to inspect your planes for stuff that might be offensive to Israelis before flying into the country. It's a PR embarrassment for the airline, and rightly so.
Kind of like when Saudi blew up over their flag being on a McDonalds bag? Or the Danish cartoons depicting Muhammed? The blow ups certainly go both ways, if not much more titled towards our Muslim friends
It's not that offensive, it's that the stupid cities aren't highlighted on the inflight maps. Who really cares? I mean whatever, those stupid maps highlight tiny little cities at random. I don't run around screaming and whining when Utica is highlighted and Albany is not, that the airline is trying to "wipe Albany off the map"
LOL, I think they just gave Ahmadinejad a new idea. Seriously, I think they have a right to complain as customers. Now if they were suing, it would be definately blowing it out of proportion.
I have been to Albany a couple of times. Have to admit that there probably aren't a lot of cities I'd miss less than Albany if it just disappeared.
