Pretty scary considering the plane almost crashed, that pilot had some balls too. The planes left wing hit the runway also. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/z42fchrzhHY"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/z42fchrzhHY" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
Damn. That wind must have been crazy. Once he started getting sideways, the pilot should have said "**** it" and aborted the landing attempt.
So a guy just happened to be recording at an airport with high winds right when theres a close-crash situation?
I was on a flight to Atlanta in the 90's and the pilot touched down on the runway and immediately took back up to the air. He never did explain what that was all about but I'm guessing it wasn't good.
I once flew Hungarian Airlines to Budapest. We were greeted by Emergency firetrucks and ambulances on the runway and they followed us all the way to the terminal. We were never told what was up. I did noticed it was a rather quiet landing though...like the motors were off.
not really balls as it was just bad flying, it's a routine crosswind landing yet he straightened out way to soon before touch thus why he tilted so much to the left.. lucky they still have jobs
My mom was flying into Frankfurt/Lufthansa today, but everything was delayed. I guess it was due to the winds as seen in the video.
you're probably right. here's some much safer looking ones: <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NVV3SNCvXEs"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NVV3SNCvXEs" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
