has anyone flown on this airline? how does it compare to others? i am considering this airline over continental b/c it flies out of hobby. it usually takes at least 45mins for me to get to my car at bush as oppose to 20mins at hobby.

I've flown to and from NYC twice on Air Tran in the past... it wasn't great by any stretch of the immagination but it wasn't horrible either. If it saves you 45 minutes and a few bucks it is worth it as long as you aren't too picky.

AirTran used to be ValueJet. Hopefully they have improved now but they used to have alot of technical difficulties and a few crashes

Their crash was not just 'a' crash, but a negligent one, was it not? Hence the name change.

As for flying it? Never ... ever. They suck. After delaying it for hours, they cancelled a flight both of my sisters were on, but unlike other carriers they helped no one find other flights. Ended up costing over $1000 more...some savings, eh? Their customer service is nonexistent.

I've had no problems with them. Heck they sell business class for the price of coach someitmes. My dad sat behind Evander Holyfield, post ear biting.

I thought about flying it but then I found out everyflight had a 5 hour layover in Atlanta. Even if you Atlanta was your final destination they probably would make you wait at the terminal for at least 5 hours before you could leave the airport.

lets just say a PACKED atlanta, no seats... it was airtrans terminal, they have an issue with delaying flights and stuff. and the airplane jsut felt cheap...

it was arright for 100 bucks, but not great.
