Just giving you guys a look at ARTCC (air route traffic control centers). These guys are the ones that dont work in airport towers and are essentially responsible for the higher airspace, Class A and B. (cruising altitudes) <iframe src="http://player.vimeo.com/video/38053002?color=ffffff" width="500" height="281" frameborder="0" webkitAllowFullScreen mozallowfullscreen allowFullScreen></iframe> Best career out there, btw.
I was going to ask the same question. I have been a Controller for 8 years.....do we have anyone else here in ATC?
I am working in Okinawa Japan. Have been here since 2009. I am an Air Force Controller and have been rated here, Langley AFB and 2 separate locations in Iraq. How much time you got left in school?
Oh hell yeah man. I'll be taking a new job in Hawaii this July. Japan is cool and all but time to get back to the norm! Have you started the FAA process yet?
Beaver Graduate? I got a 3 - Level here that is a Beaver Grad. He could not get hired on and joined the Force. When you graduate?
I go to Mt. SAC here in Los Angeles. Did you do well on the ATSAT? The hiring process?? No, I have to finish the CTI first then hopefully I'll get picked up soon there after. But man, that's awesome to do the job you love..in Hawaii! I'll take wherever they place me, I really dont give a damn.
When I was in HS we took one of those tests that tell you what job you would be good at when you grow up. Mine came back ATC and the reason was because I apparently handled stress well. I never became an ATC, but I always took pride in that test result and try to live up to it in my current job.
Nah man. I would LOVE to get there when I finish my time in the Military. I am in Okinawa and soon to be working in Hawaii for the next 3-6. Both Parents ATC? You must of had a crazy upbringing!
