The supposed liberal answer to Rush and Hannity got bounced from two major markets because apparently they can't pay their bills. The fact that people still believe in the Fox News/Rush Limbaugh myth of "liberal media bias" is a wonderful restatement of one of the great lessons that the Nazis learned before WWII: If you tell people what they want to hear and insist that it's the truth they will believe you with religous fervor.
The liberals don't understand that hate-filled rhetoric is not what America wants to listen to. Negativity followed by more negativity -- it's the entire premise of the radio station. The sole purpose of forming Air America was to attack Rush, Hannity, Savage, etc. It wasn’t about the liberals’ message. It wasn’t about democracy. It was purely about attacking the Republicans’ stranglehold on AM radio. Poor liberals, it’s not enough for them to control virtually the entire television, no sir. Not enough! They need radio too! And dang it, it’s just not fair for them not to have control of all media! Americans really are getting sick and tired of listening to whiny crybabies like John Forbes Kerry, Nancy Pelosi, Tom Daschle, etc. They are tired of the liberals doom and gloom. Do the liberals even have the capacity to speak *positively* about any aspect of America? Doubtful. They seem to think that voters are going to make their choice come November on who can paint the ugliest picture of this country that we live in. Air America, you have failed. Not everyone wants to tune in to hateful rantings or live with stars in our eyes, believing every lie fed to us. We'll leave that for Bush fans.
OK, let's get one damned thing straight. They're not saying that the media is biased in some kind of pinko-commie plot to depict things in a liberal light. The point is that most people in the media (I'm an obvious exception) are liberal. They were raised that way, they went to liberal schools and the majority vote Democrat. So their beliefs naturally leak into the way they decide what constitutes a story and how they cover a story. That's the facts and if you can't acknowledge that, you likely have the intellectual capacity of a cabbage.

I'm in the newspaper biz and it is pretty obvious that they are. Read the editorial pages of any of the major dailies (NY Times, AJC, LA Times, Boston Globe, etc.) and try to tell me that they are not. I just dare you on that one.

Stop the presses!!! There’s nothing more exciting than half a story from a third hand source!!!! Insiders tell SLUDGE, that the reason the network was pulled off the air this morning in Chicago and Los Angeles, the network's second- and third-largest markets, was because, the owner of both stations, Arthur Liu of Multicultural Broadcasting, said, the network bounced a check and owes him more than $1 million! The run-on sentence, tortured grammar and the exclamation point clearly means it’s true!! Only it isn’t. Normally we’d let this go because “habitual liars” like Drudge are laughable, and ridicule is our business. But Arthur Liu --- not funny. He lied to us, he ripped us off and now we’re chasing him down with a pipe wrench. It’s a metaphor. Here’s what really happened: This Liu-ser was ripping off our boss Evan Cohen big time (he can’t do that, that’s our job). Evan found out about it and he stopped payment on a check to keep Liu-cifer from ripping him off even more. You can touch Evan for the occasional meal or drinks but a million bucks is crossing the line. And if we ever get low on cash, we can always call Barbra Streisand. Or any of the Baldwins. Except Stephen. So we got screwed, Liu’d, and tattooed. How Liu can you get? In Liu of payment. Liu’d and lascivious behavior. These write themselves. What we’re getting at is that we hate him. So now everyone’s saying we’re going down the dumper in Chicago and Los Angeles, but what they don’t tell you is that we’re still on in Portland. And we OWN Portland. And let’s not forget Riverside and Plattsburgh. And New York. And streaming on the internet. And XM. And Sirius. Actually we’re fine. So cool your jets. Air America Radio isn’t dead, we’re in court and we’re going to slam Liu’s head in a car door. Another metaphor. We hope to be back on the air tomorrow or the next day in those markets. I do both. I cover the Falcons for a daily in Georgia and I have a radio show in the evenings. So needless to say, I'm quite busy. Now as for newspaper owners, most are liberal as well with a few exceptions (Rupert Murdoch comes to mind).
Is it even on in Houston? The only talk radio I like here is Dean & Rog on 93.7 in the morning . I would like to check it out.
