I'm not saying DON'T draft Ming. I am saying that we may be served better as an organization if we load our roster w/ talent. How do we know Ming is worth it? We've seen him play a total of 3 times. Plus, this guy is gonna be a bball headache from day one. He could be the next Olajuwan but would Olajuwon have been as good if he never did offseason over here and got called back in the middle of the season. Seriously guys, Ming may be cool and all and the hype might be well deserved but what if he misses 20 games in a season after we start depending on him? Then we look like we did when Francis went down. I'm sorry, the more I think about it I'd rather have a proven talent and some potential than one BIG maybe C
What if Odom gets suspended again for Pot? What if he quits basketball to open up a mar1juana factory? what if Butler turns into a bust? What if Dunleavy hits a rookie wall after 30 games? EVERY player has questionmarks. It's just that some ? are bigger than other ?. The Rockets will know the answers to plenty of the current questionmarks by the time draft day rolls around. No reason to run away from a player because of stuff that may very well be resolved over the next 20 days.
Aight, if this cat is gonna come no strings attached, I'll be the first one in the D/FW metroplex in line for a Ming jersey. And about Odom and any other draft pick, there are some question marks sure but the Chinese government is leaving no question marks. THEY ARE TELLING US THAT A GUY THAT WE DRAFT AND PAY ISN'T GONNA BE AVAILABLE FOR NECESSARY THINGS (training camp, games during the season, PLAYOFF GAMES???). If their tune doesn't change then whats the point of drafting MIng? Sell jerseys to Asian people. C
Yeah... I don't like the strings either. The Organization should REALLY, REALLY work out those wack details before any trade is made.... why do I feel a draft and trade is what's up their sleeves??
