did any1 see liddys testimony today? i actually felt sorry for the guy but it looks like the wealthy majority in america are facing a pending mob mentality from people and it seems to be getting to them i say good cause the spirit of the people should always be there. the govt and big business MUST be scared of the masses. in a democracy its good to be on edge
the guy opened his testimony with a plea to congress cause his employees were getting death threats and people were sending liddy personally emails about how they know the kids and famillies of those executives and they would hunt them down and terrorize them the country is on the edge of something here and it will only get worse cause the economy will get much worse still, dont believe the crap govt and treasury is feeding us about how things will turn around at end of the year, i guarantee u they are WRONG we are onto something here
Most of them aren't even Americans and are in England! These guys and their no-collateral version of stepping around insurance/investment laws destroyed that country let everyone else be more aggressive as they felt they were 'protected' by AIG. It would be nice to know who was responsible for this horrible decision and who permitted it to take place. Not to 'lynch' them of sorts, but I favor transparancy and those that make good decisions should be praised and those that don't should be known. Its annoying to me to hear Andrew Cuomo and such talk about the horrors and such when he was a guy that pushed Fannie/Freddie and their 5 trillion dollar portfolio into 50% subprime (# of loans, not assets) Let those involved be vilified. That is capitalism at its finest.
Going after AIG is like shooting the crack addict because a crack dealer is terrorizing your neighborhood.
Yeah its getting out of control. We're talking about millions in bonuses when this is a trillion dollar industry. AIG ****ed up, leave it at that, there's no need for riots. People are obviously angry but they're just hurling it at AIG when there are many other financial institutions which have played as large if not larger parts in the **** up we're in. Threatening families of AIG employees, seriously? Everyone needs to take a second and calm down.
This is real life, not some Rage Against The Machine song. AIG has over 100,000 employees, 99.999999% of which have done nothing wrong. What a stupid thread. Go back to the GARM.
Some people like chaos. Not me......I'm just saying. Who knows where this thing will end, but it does seem as though class warfare has been more prevalent over the last couple of years than usual. Maybe I just wasn't paying attention. The crisis is making it worse. With people, I've always heard, you can always tell the character of someone not by their succes, but through their failures. Society as a whole should be looked at as the same. America is in a tough spot, hopefully we can respond in a manner that leads to a brighter day. A brighter day. Like that touch there I through at the end? Man I should've been a poet.
