It's going to be hard for him to fit in with Mayo and Gay. AI can play the point but he doesn't want too.

Who didn't play well offensively for the Grizz? They're offense is doing well, it's their D that is suffering, and AI doesn't help there. Dude should be happy just to have a job at this point in his career.

You want a 34 year old who has a relentless desire to dominate the ball and is slightly delusional regarding his on court impact to get minutes over the young Mike Conley and OJ Mayo? In his first game of the season? Memphis made this move to bring more fans to their games, not because they envision a deep playoff push.

Sorry AI, that's what happens when you can only win with an entire team of elite defenders built around you. There's really no where else he can go - young teams won't start him because it's pointless to their cause and older teams won't start him because they want to win.

Memphis made a mistake signing AI. If he's whining after just one game, it may not be long before they have to let him go. His bad attitude could infect that team.

When will this delusional fool realize that his impact on the court only translates to him getting points in the boxscore and not wins (the iverson for billups trade speaks for itself).

    lol.

    This is just too funny.

Seems like an excerpt from the onion.

If he wanted to put up numbers he should have gone to the bobcats.

Not surprised......fading star, contract year, something to prove......doesn't fit into a team system.

    Its Official
The cancer has spread in memphis:

    Griz stopped playing defense
Gay doesnt wanna sign an extension
    Mayo and Gay fight
AI complaning just 20 minutes after his first game
    Zac Randoph = top scorer
Hasheem Thabeet not getting any minutes and look closer to P Obryant than Deke

    That some messy ****

Man, I've always been at least partial to Iverson since he's a Hampton Roads guy and took so much uncalled for crap his first 4 years in the league because he dared to come out with cornrows and tats.

But those comments are disturbingly familiar to Philly Webber's "I'm no role player" comments. Fading stars refusing to accept that they are on the other side of the hill.

I've always felt that guys returning from injury, regardless of stature, should come back off the bench and re-establish themselves as being 100% before starting. This isn't the first time Iverson's thrown a fit over this - same scenario played out in Philly once (Pat O'Brien coaching?).

Going to be a disastrous year for Memphis. They should pick up the phone and see if they can get 25 cents on the dollar for any and all of their starting lineup. Today.

There's a lot of competition for that title. I think I give Marbury the edge.

Grizzles and their owner are pathetic. I dont think they signed him with the intent to play him, I think they just signed him to create a stir and sell tickets. If only Iverson was willing to take a lesser role he could be a deadly off the bench scorer for a contender.

One game in. Wow, can anyone throw their HOF possibilities under the bus faster than Iverson?

Conley just isn't that special. Isn't the coach worried about his job? He should be. Play Iverson. It can't hurt.

Considering he signed with the Grizzlies with the understanding that he would start for them, I could see why he'd be pissed off. The guy wants to showcase his talent for another big pay day. Coming off the bench with only 17 minutes playing time ain't going to get him paid. I'd raise hell too.
