This is from an ESPN article about George Karl possible taking over at Portland.

But perhaps the best instance of unrest was witnessed the other night in Seattle, during a first-quarter timeout.

Scottie Pippen made a pretty bad turnover just prior, so during the timeout Dunleavy told him he was out of the game.

Pippen left the team huddle, slammed a bottle of water to the ground, and as ballboys scurried around cleaning up the mess, Pippen sat down and told a teammate, "This (expletive) can't coach."

    Loser.

And there are more reasons to hate Pippen, this is from the Suns game:
"-- Scottie Pippen yelled and cursed at his teammates to pass him the ball. He picked up a technical foul after a call went in his favor. He shoved Jason Kidd out of bounds for no good reason."
Thank God he´s not a Rocket anymore!

I don't hate Pippen, I've moved past hating him, now I just feel sorry for the Blazers.

It's pretty obvious. He wants to be traded to the Wizards so he can play with MJ again

Pippen's a loser, and if it wasn't for MJ, he wouldn't have a ring. Get him the ball? Why? So he can turn it over in crunch time, or go 3 of 20 from the field? Portland is stuck with the loser, and his contract, and I couldn't be happier! The Rockets will be finishing ahead of Portland in the standings in a year or 2. And we have Quitten to thank for it!

Funny how people interpret things differently isn't it?

    Saturday, March 17, 2001
By Jason Quick of The Oregonian staff

Angry, determined Pippen puts a stop to the slump.

Asserting himself as the Blazers' emotional catalyst, Scottie Pippen gets six steals, and his teammates follow his lead
If there was ever any question who the leader of this Trail Blazers team is, there is no longer.
Not after what Scottie Pippen showed Friday night in the Blazers' 90-87 win over Utah at the Rose Garden.
Rasheed Wallace might be the go-to guy on offense, Damon Stoudamire might be the favorite son, and Bonzi Wells the growing fan favorite, but this team belongs to Pippen. Mentally and physically.
Pippen led the Blazers out of their five-game losing streak with inspired play -- 20 points, six steals, four rebounds -- and a maniacal tempo that eventually became contagious to his teammates.
"The players feed off my leadership, and that's what I have to do for us," Pippen said. "And I am determined to do it."
Through the entire losing streak, Pippen has been the most emotional player, from an emphatic water bottle toss after being removed from a game to snappy remarks to his teammates on the court.
And Friday night, that anger and irritation blended into a nasty aura on the court. He attacked the rim early, finishing one drive with a left-handed slam. He accosted the Jazz with a tornado of slapping hands and waving arms. All six of his steals were in the first half. And while he sported a tough-guy attitude with his biting stare, he also took it upon himself to continually direct traffic on the court.
"I was determined for us to get to the basket and get to the foul line," Pippen said. "That way, it opens more opportunities for us, and it worked out well. I think we all kind of fed off that. Guys came in and we weren't shooting the ill-advised shots we've been shooting the last couple of games."
Pippen has always been the locker room leader, the one who commands respect from his teammates. And he has always carried an aura of winning six NBA titles and being named as one of the NBA's 50 Greatest Players of All-Time.
But only recently has he shown the angry, not-going-to-stand-for-this attitude, which has been sorely missing from this team. Still, Pippen insists he can't carry this team alone.
"I think all the guys look up to me and respect me, but I don't want to take away the qualities that guys like Damon and Rod bring to us," Pippen said.
Pippen made seven of 13 field goals and all six of his free throws while playing 43 minutes -- the most he has played since the double-overtime game against the Clippers in Los Angeles on Feb. 24.
But more impressive than his shooting and his stamina against Utah was his defense. He was everywhere, and his energy inspired his teammates.
"Scottie set the tone," guard Steve Smith said. "He did a great job of getting us into the game."
Coach Mike Dunleavy, who has consulted with Pippen in private several times during this streak, said Pippen could be the X-factor for the playoffs.
"We need that of him," Dunleavy said. "He had a stretch where he was playing great basketball before his elbow injury, the best basketball I have seen him play in several years. And that was just like tonight. I mean, that's big. If we get him back into the mix like that, that takes us up a couple of notches."
That's what having a leader can do for a team like this.

What are they going to do? Rip into the guy? He is a Blazer, and Blazer fans love him.

"X-Factor"; i.e. - someone who has the talent to make an impact at a crucial juncture but has been consistently underachieving.

As he said himself, Pippen, like the wonderful championship Lakers, doesn't give a $hit until playoffs, when he thinks he can just turn it up until collapsing in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals. Truly the heart of a champion. If he's the heart and soul of the Blazers, we know how far they'll go [IMG]

Call me a troll, or whatever, but don't say I defend Pippen. I hate his ass just as much as the rest of you.
I just don't see how you can criticize the Oregonian sports writers just for complimenting him. No matter how much of a scum bag he is, he is still a Blazer, and loved by Blazer fans and writers.
If it was a national sports writer like the Sporting News guys and NBC people, then you have a problem. Did anyone read Bill Walton's mailbag on the Sporting News that called Pippen one of the best in the league? Hilarious read.

Blazers continue their downward slide, dropping the sixth game of their last seven, although it was against San Antonio.

In 35 minutes, the "X-Factor" got 6 points on 1 of 8 shooting, plus 7 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 block, and no steals.

We need a SF. How about trading Walt, Cato, and Carlos for this guy? He's supposed to be one of the all-time greats. [IMG]

    Pippen on Jordan's possible return.

"I'm not buying it," an upset Pippen said. "And that is all I want to say about it!"

He either wants to get out of Jordan's shadow, or is not actually upset, but actually wants to play with him again.
Saw this on Last Word, I think?

    How about those FailBlazers?

6th place and falling like a stone.

Bad coach, bad management, bad players.

Maybe this time David "The just need to plan where to have the parade" Aldridge will learn that this team can't win a championship.
