After the lockout the Heat would consider signing Michael Redd or Tracy McGrady

This would be a great opportunity for Shane and Tracy, hope they get a chance to play with a contender to end there career.

Spoelstra couldn't even find out how to utilize a good, versatile and relatively able basketball player like Mike Miller, what's he gonna do with one of these two guys? Just let James Jones stand and shoot, keep things simple for Spoelstra.

Good thing they have a backup plan because the first three won't sign for the minimum.

Great! If T-mac signs, you can guarantee a 1st round curse on them.

I don't blame Spoelstra for Miller's struggles last season, but you are on to something. If Miller plays like he is capable of, McGrady and Redd are redundant. The Heat don't need more backup SGs and SFs, they need a starting PG and C. Signing either of these two guys or Shane won't do them much good.

Lest we forget that Mike Miller was injured and/or played injured for most of the season? He wasn't even at full strength. Tack on the fact that when Miller came back, James Jones' minutes and production took a massive hit as well. I think Spolestra has quite a bit of learning to do but putting blame on him for Miller's production (or lack thereof) is a stretch.

McGrady can play PG, and he sucks on D just as bad as Mike Bibby now and they had no problem hiding his weakness, so McGrady would be good to run the point if LBJ sits.

Mike Miller will play his usual role, a more versatile James Jones, who was taken out of the rotation anyways late in the playoff run. Mike Miller, healthy, is way better at shooting than Jones. He'll be a HUGE impact next year, as 3pt shooting as a weakness for the Heat.

I think McGrady should be a pickup b/c of how good the Heat's perimeter defense is, so they can cover McGrady for that. They need another playmaker so they can allow both LBJ/Wade to finish.

They do not need Redd if Mike Miller is healthy. They do not need Shane Battier b/c their perimeter defense is already top-notch.

Prince and Grant are 2-way players so they should be the first 2 choices. McGrady should be 3rd since he will help their offense.

Wade/McGrady/LeBron would be pretty awesome for them.

Lets see JJ guard one of them while hes in the game, HE WILL not be able to even McGrady at his declining stage.

Wade would have to guard the PG's most likely though.

Mike Miller sucked big time last year, period. The thing is, he has 4 years left and Heat will not trade him because nobody wants him. They will have to relay on Miller again. And yes, that means Redd is useless.

As for Battier, they do need him. He would be a perfect man comming off the bench for them maybe even playing 4 sometimes.

And they can use Tracy too, especially his playmaking, the thing they missed last year.

Lebron is the best perimeter defender in the league now, and he can play the 4. He basically plays 35+ minutes a game so there is no need for Shane.

What they need is more offensive creativity, and TMAC still offers that for 10-12 minutes per game.

Prince and Hill would be better choices, but if they had to settle, TMAC is the guy.

You're right, Prince and Hill would be better options but those are not guys (at least Prince) who would agree for the minimum. T-Mac on the other side is, he wants to win.

If the Heat want to win, they need to subtract, not add.

Are you telling me Bosh can't land a top defensive center?

Hell, Orlando would fork over Howard, 3 1st picks, 2 players to be named later, their dancing team, VIP access to the top Orlando strip clubs, and a years worth of sandwiches for Lebron. But Riley et al still think Lebron is the best player on the team.

McGrady would be a decent option with what they already have to run their 2nd team by himself. I don't see McGrady being a good fit alongside Lebron or D Wade. Redd is redundant to a healthier Mike Miller. I don't think Miller's fallen off THAT much. But he has had some injuries over the years, similar to McGrady he's not an 80 games player.

Yes, add another player who cant shoot from outside and who needs the ball to be effective. *laugh*

Heat need to get complimentary players that are high % outside shooters.

Man, if it takes LeDouche, DWhine and BabyBosh to take T-Mac past the 1st round of the playoffs... or will the T-Mac be stronger than all three of them? They already lost the finals for having Juwan Howard on that team, do they really want to take an even bigger risk?
