After reading this article, I just wish we had the old Rudy T back. The one that looked at tapes and used logic to make decisions not instinct. We don't need Miss Cleo the coach.

If Rudy isn't putting in the effort to make our team good by watchin tape and making well thought out decisions he should retire.

I honestly don't see how that would help, but, hey, maybe you go with your instincts too, and who am I to tell you your instincts are wrong?

Rockets keep playing the same tune Rudy's song will end before the band starts playing. What a composer! He has one song and it goes dribble, dribble, shoot.

Larry Bird did much the same thing his first year, and the Pacers took the Bulls to 7 games.

I don't mind if Rudy leaves most of the details to his assistants... as long as they're effective. And if they're not, then it's his fault, since he's delegating the authority. For all we know, they're b etter than he is at micromanagement.

jeff, in all honesty, please tell me what Rudy has to do before you would consider that he could be part of the problem as opposed to part of the solution.

Let's see . . . miss the playoffs for what is it now, 3 years running? check

. . . take one of the youngest, most athletic teams in the league and turn it into an inefficient, low-scoring, halfcourt team? check

. . . disrespect and ultimately piss off the greatest player in franchise history, in the process (a) blowing the first half of last season and not even capitalizing on Dream's incredible second half and (b) all but packing his bags and sending him out of town in exchange for . . . nothing? check

. . . go something like 1-20 without Steve in the lineup? check

. . . show no ability to adjust to, much less take advantage of, significant rules changes? check

. . . sit one of the 3 best rookies in the league on the bench for the first 25 games just so we get in a hole too big to even dream of digging out of? check

Name something positive Rudy has done, really. Show me an area of improvement, something.

Its called rebuilding. You think really think if a Rockets had a different coach for the last 3 years they would have made the playoffs. You dreamin'.

. . . take one of the youngest, most athletic teams in the league and turn it into an inefficient, low-scoring, halfcourt team? check

    I agree with that one.

. . . disrespect and ultimately piss off the greatest player in franchise history, in the process (a) blowing the first half of last season and not even capitalizing on Dream's incredible second half and (b) all but packing his bags and sending him out of town in exchange for . . . nothing? check

What a load of crap. Rudy loved Hakeem The Rockets made him a more than reasonable offer, Hakeem (mistakenly) didn't think it was enough and he wanted to be on a team that had a better chance of winning the title. So you thought the Rockets should pay a guy, who will probably only be healthy about 42 games a season, a large 3-year contract? Boy, I'm glad you're not the Rockets GM.

. . . go something like 1-20 without Steve in the lineup? check

Yes, that is pretty bad. But lets face it, without Steve and Maurice, the Rockets are pretty close to being the least talented team in the NBA.

. . . show no ability to adjust to, much less take advantage of, significant rules changes? check

    I agree.

. . . sit one of the 3 best rookies in the league on the bench for the first 25 games just so we get in a hole too big to even dream of digging out of? check

    Yeah, hindsight's always 20-20.

Name something positive Rudy has done, really. Show me an area of improvement, something.

This is true. There really doesn't seem to be any improvement this season. But I say we should at least give Rudy one more year, where he actually has a full team. Maybe you want to fire the most succesful and dedicated coach in Rocket's history, but under the cirumstances I don't think it would be fair to do so this season.

Yea! Rudy has a very young rebuilding team that has often played with 4 of the 5 starters on the IR. He's the worst coach ever! Everybody, hurry. Kick him while he's down. Go go go!!!
