    AFC Championship Game

Very fitting the battle for AFC supremacy ends with a rivalry game. For those unaware, these two teams hate each other. Expect a lot of talking in the time building up to the game. You can also expect an ugly, physical and low scoring game that will likely be decided by the last couple drives.

Steelers won the first two meetings -- who wins the third?

I think you know who i'm picking

Ravens must win... So the Super Bowl is the "Battle of the Birds".

Is it me or does it seem like every game the Ravens play they hate the other team?

I expect it to be very similar to the Titans Ravens game. A lot of hard hitting, a low score and the game will turn on a few turnovers.

As opposed to an all Pennsylvania SB? You really think that's the more intriguing headline? Yikes.

I was talking to a Steelers fan during the Eagles Giants game and asked her if she was rooting for the Eagles to have an all PA superbowl. She said no because the Eagles were more of a NJ team.

Yep... just like Dallas teams are more Oklahoma's team. :D

But, the Eagles dominate NE PA and south jersey. The rest of PA and NJ are for the Steelers and Giants/Jets.

Ravens didn't look as intimidating today -- they certainly won't psych out the Steelers -- Pitt 24 -- Ravens 17.

Not to a Steelers fan. What you're mentioning is somewhat true, but as a Pittsburgh sports fan you hear it from all angles. If its not the Eagles, its the Phillies, if its not either of them its the Flyers. Nobody in this city cares about the NBA otherwise i'm sure they would try to flaunt the Sixers too (if that's even possible).

It would be Pittsburgh vs. Philly to the core. At least that's the way I see it.

The missed late season bye (2nd week bye instead of 10), because of the Houston game being rescheduled, hopefully has caught up to the Ravens.
Especially after the physical t*** game.

    Thank you, Texans and Titans.

This is a tough one to call. Besides the obvious "who wins the turnover" or "special teams big play" issues, I think QB play will make the difference. If Big Ben plays like he did in the 2nd half today, the Steelers will win this game. If Flacco can't make a few plays to put the Ravens over the top, same thing. On the other hand, if Roethlisberger holds the ball too long and gets sacked or fumbles or throws dumb passes under duress, the Ravens will take it. I think the Ravens might need a couple of big plays on defense to pull it out. If both teams play solid, it will go down to the final possession or two of the game.

Edge Steelers. Big edge to the Steelers if Roethlisberger doesn't have a fumble or INT.

I'm going to pick the Ravens to win this one although I wouldn't mind Pittsburgh winning for a "Battle of Pennsylvania" matchup in the Super Bowl (because you know who I am going for in the other matchup).

I used to live in Pottstown, PA (between Philly and Reading). In a battle of PA teams, I'm rooting for the Eagles.

I'm picking the Steelers cause I think their offense will make more big plays then the Ravens. I'm impressed with Flacco but I bet the Steelers will dare him to beat them with his arm, and concentrate on stuffing the run.

If there are 2 franchises the Texans want to model themselves after, it's these 2 teams. They can change coaches and personnel, but the identity of each team has remained intact throughout the years even through down years.
