I'm hoping there are some hardcore WoW players who can help me out...

My sister started playing the game this year and I think it would be a neat idea to buy something in-game for her for Christmas. I tried searching for something, but I don't really know much about the game at all. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Game gold? Xp-bonus card? Some sort of nifty item? What would you rather receive as a WoW player?

I'd like to pay about $25-30 and her character is an undead rogue... maybe level 40 or so. Not really sure.

    Any help would be appreciated!

Or the 2 new pets from Blizz that would be about $20. I can't access the blizz store from work to give you the link though. Whatever you do don't buy her gold for the game. Outside gold transactions are frowned upon and sometimes lead to bannings. GMe cards are also a good option 60 days for $30.

Figurines that are based on the actual character (race, clothes, weapons, etc) are pretty cool.

But they're like $130. So the two in-game pets are neat though and don't cost that much. That's probably the way to go.

Thanks guys. I didn't know that about the gold. I thought it was legit and commonplace.

What do the pets do exactly? Help with leveling and such?

Nope. The pets are purely just for collecting. They follow you around and do various actions when you're just standing around. People collect them like Pokemon.
You're not supposed to be able to buy anything with real money that can help you in game. Thus the ban on gold buying.

Exactly. The pets are just fun collectibles. They are $10 each but for one of them Blizzard donates $5 to charity.

Do not ever do anything to reinforce the habit of playing an MMO.

Pets/mounts from the WoW Trading Card Game.

Epic gears come and go after patches, but vanity items have permanent staying power.

I really don't recommend those Trading card mounts/pets, mainly because I don't think the sellers, whom are all independent, should be trusted.

If you want to buy something legit and riskfree, just get her the in-game pet store pets like someone already mentioned

Or get her a 2 month subscription card, which I believe is 30 dollars?
