I have not been to a Rockets game since they were in the Summit/Compaq arena. How is parking at the new the Toyota center? Any advice would be appreciated.

I recommend parking on the streets for free if you don't mind walking 5-7 blocks. I've been to over 25 games this year and have yet to pay for parking.

EDIT: I paid on MLK day because the game was before 6. However, it was only a couple bucks.

I usually park at the Houston Center on Austin. 10 bucks, if used to be 5. There is also another parking garage a couple of blocks from the Toyota Center that is 5 bucks

park on the street for free.

i've only paid for parking once this year, and it was during the Martin Luther King day game because it was daytime.

The streets are free after 6pm.

Park on Austin street, just past the Houston Center.

    There are always free spots.

Yeah, just find an open parking spot along the street for free. If not that, then there's close $5 parking in some lots. No need to pay the $20..

I head straight for this area whenever I go to a game. Can't believe my eyes when dorks are entering a parking lot paying 10 bucks when there is parking right on the street next to the same parking for free lol. I guess quite a few people don't know how parking works in dt.

IF you want to be close or your worried about safety... I like the China Garden parking lot, i think its $15 or $10 if you eat there and the food is pretty good usually. its gated 2 blocks from the arena and u can be on the freeway in 5 minutes. The parking garage is expensive and takes balls long to get out of, only reason I would park there is if a pass was included in something.

The tundra garage is crazy. I landed tickets that included a parking pass there and it took nearly an hour to get out. Not sure if thats the norm but I'm not going to try again....

Unless I have tix for season ticket parking I always pay the $15.00 and park right across the entrance to the place. Did it tonight for the Muse concert and we were out in 10 minutes.

Muse was great. SSP was a bit off, I thought they should have been louder. But still a great show.

I have 105 pics of the show. Really only around 20 came out seriously dope.

Looking at them now, with my ears ringing.

I thought SSP were great, but you can't expect an opening band to have the same amps tuned to 11 as the main act. I'm a HUGE Radiohead/Tool fan, and I have to admit, this was one of the best concerts I have ever witnessed. JUST AWESOMNESS!!!

I guess this somehow turned into a muse thread, so I'll chime in too. GREAT show.. still haven't gotten my normal hearing back.

I actually got there at 2.30 pm so I was worried about the parking situation, with some lots having the day rates and night rates separate. Luckily I was able to park right across the street from the TC for only $9.00 for the entire day (until 5 am the next morning). That's the cheapest I've ever paid for a parking lot so close to the Toyota Center.
