Maybe some of you know that I've recently moved to texas. Well, since I don't have the lay of the land yet, need advice on good oil change places. I used to go to valvoline instant oil change in memphis, which was top notch.
Valvoline Instant Oil is just as generic a place like Jiffy Lube, Midas, Pep Boys, etc. Your question is similar to asking any recommendations on fast food places. They're all pretty much the same if you drive affordable cars.
This is why I created the thread to find a GOOD shop. That's all I'm asking for and I got: one guy that tells me I need to go back to memphis, one guy that thinks oil chance places and fast food restaurants are the same question, one guy that thinks "these threads" are laughable, and you who advised me to do it myself. Wow. Just wow.
Which one of you is this rockets fan? Got oil change and they didn't put any oil in it. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Hae66aBW3lQ" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
You want everyone to recommend you a shop, but you didn't specify a city...... If you're in Houston and in the NW, Burden Honda Care does good work. If you're in SW Houston in Bellaire/Sugarland area, Auto Ho's is good.
My policy is you can't go wrong with a dealer shop. It might be a little more expensive but you know they're putting the right stuff in your car. In particular, big fan of Honda Express service shops.
I did say houston, but not what part. I have been doing work in the heights the last few days. Any good shops in the heights area?
If you have fairly new import model you should not take it to any of those places. I use to take my car to brake check before starting to do it myself. They are everywhere and a reputable place although the cost might be a little high. Just do the schedule appoint online save a little and no waiting especially if you go in the mornings. You can bring them the oil and filter and they will adjust charges. I use to do that b/c they put conventional oil in it.
what do you consider top notch?....it's a pretty simple job, so there isn't much to mess up on. Any shop should be able to do a good job. Just watch them do it and make sure they actually change the oil and filter. I guess, if you're looking for something fancy, just go somewhere big and pretty.
Sorry man...This place has gotten pretty lame lately. The worst part is that some of the old school members seem to be complete richards. Still the best place for Rockets news though! EVS Motors is a good place. They are above average in cost, but also way above average in service and reliability.
