I was driving to my home tonight and my neighbors had left their garage open and their dog ran full speed infront of my SUV, getting the front and back tires which naturally killed it. Anyways the neighbors are not home right now and I brought the dog in to my garage...I am freaking out right now. What do I do? Tell them or just dump the body somewhere and make them think it ran away? After all they left the garage door open.
The right/hard thing to do would be to text/call your neighbor just saying something's happened and that they need to come home right away. Then explain what happened and that you did everything you could (braking, but come on physics says SUVs suck at that). The easy/risky thing would be to dump the body elsewhere but make sure you don't get caught by passer-bys or clean your car so no blood shows on your tires/stench /etc. It would suck psychologically if your neighbor shares his grief about the whereabouts of his pet and you have to hide what happened. In addition, he may suspect that you did something and à la Crime and Punishment the events goes to your head or it ruins your relationship with the neighbor. I suggest the 1st option. Your neighbor may hate you and that's fine, but inside you'll sleep better at night knowing you did the right thing. I just hope there can be no legal action against you, can someone with legal experience comment on this? Hopefully your neighbor will accept your sincere apology and just leave it at that.
If no one saw you just tell them you found their dog like that on the side of the road on your way home from work.
Do the right thing and tell them. Ultimately it's their fault for not making sure the dog was secure.
I have traced your IP and called the cops on you. Enjoy 10 years in the slammer for vehicular dogslaughter.
Peter Chao eat the dog for breakfast. Sometime for afternoon snack! I'm going to cut you up into little pieces and mix you up and marinade it into a sauce. oooh.. yum, yum, yum yum... it taste like chicken.
Perhaps putting the dog back in their garage and never mentioning it again would be good. Perhaps they won't notice for a while.
These folks coupe up their dog in the garage when they aren't there...and left the door open. Great responsible owners there Chances are they probably won't care.
Leave him on their doorstep with a note that says, "You're next." Honestly though, it's their fault for letting him run around like that. Bury him in the back yard and make them think he ran away.
I just got off the couch to go to the store and realized my left shoe is untied.... need advice quick. posting from blackberry.
