Hey guys, This July 4th some of my friends are coming to stay with me, and we were discussing the idea of renting out a pontoon/party boat for July 4th. Anyone done something like this before with advice or recommendations?
I did, and it was great. We got one with a grill and were able to fit 10-15 people. There are bigger ones. There are several companies, I would call around and see if any are available. They fill up fast
we found a guy with a pontoon on craigslist. i don't think it has a grill on it, but we'll be picking up some BBQ from somewhere.
Daybreak Marina has rentals on Lake Travis...if there is a Lake Travis right now. Last I saw it was extremely low. Have fun
I was there about a month and a half ago, very low, but still plenty of water to have fun on...just maybe not own a house on.
Do you recall how much the one with the grill cost and where you got it from? Also, does someone from the company captain the boat or to they let you drive it?
I rented from Easy Street Marina. I'm not sure if they're still in business, the website is down. Was about $135 per hour and there was a captain.
Easy street marina is no longer in business. Drought killed them. Not much more than a creek where easy street marina use to be.
Front page of the Austin statesman today says that the water level has risen 6ft since Memorial Day but is still low. But that is good news.
I got back this past weekend...water was low but still a nice lake. Hit up austinsboattours@gmail.com and ask for Angel. She did a shuttle to the boat, four hour boat for $1850 altogether with tax, gratituity, tips to drivers, etc. Boat was a double decker with a grill. It was a pretty good time I'll say.
