going to be in asheville (and tennessee and south carolina) for a week-ish in late april/early may. any suggestions? must-see/must-do? thanks in advance.
Here are the populars: Biltmore house Lake Lure (never seen the appeal here) There are a few unique restaurants downtown Take some time going down the blueridge parkway Greenville/Spartanburg errr uhhh not much here TN: You can do the pigeon forge/Gatlinburg thing. I personally think its a tourist trap. If you can brave the cold water, try rafting the nantahahla river.
aaahhh....Asheville. One of the most beautiful places I've ever been. (that includes the Bahamas, Playa Del Carmen, Cal, Florida, and many other places in the US) The Biltmore Mansion is definitely worth the trip if you want to see how the extremely rich used to live. It's very impressive. Thats about all I had time for when we went there. The drive to it through the foothills is gorgeous as well.
Crazy.....I just got back from there about 10 min ago! The Biltmore is cool, we did the Smokey Mt. Nat. Park, and Chimney Rock. Lots of cool places to eat, and just about everything is crazy beautiful.
Biltmore Estate is pretty cool, but to me the biggest thing about the Asheville area is just being there. Just a gorgeous part of the country. Just walking around and breathing in that air is probably the best thing you can do. Evan
I heard Asheville is the gay capital of the south...not that there is anything wrong with that unless you consider it immoral.
