Dammit! I really wanted to add this guy to the end of our bench. He would have been a valuable assett, and he wouldn't complain about minutes.

Dallas has been talking about getting a "Kobe stopper" for its team. Well, now it has one.

While NO ONE can stop Kobe per se, Griffin is one of the league's premiere defenders when he's healthy. Last year, he battled lower back pain throughout the year. This year he's healthy and should return to his outstanding form shown during his rookie year. This guy can do everything that Bruce Bowen can do on defense (and maybe even more than Bowen on offense), and the Mavericks are paying a fraction of the price it would take to land Bowen.

This marks the first free agent signing that I truly lament missing out on because of the stalled Hakeem negotiations. The Mavs are even BETTER now.

While a good signing, Griffin hasn't been much of a player since midway in his rookie year. He is no spring chicken, just 1 year younger than Shandon. I would much rather have us resign Shandon than have Griffin or that older bricklayer Bowen. Shandon doesn't get injured much and can at least do something on both ends of the court, plusses over the other 2 guys.

Freak--No **** we have the better Griffin. What does that have to do with getting Adrian? [IMG]

Desert--Sure, Shandon is a better player. But with Dan Fegan as his agent, what would you rather do? Sign Shandon to a fat contract or sign Adrian Griffin to the league minimum? As I said earlier, it was injury that slowed him down last year, but he was simply FANTASTIC his rookie year before the injury. According to Dallas, he's perfectly healthy once again. Boston is stupid to have taken three swingmen-types in the draft and to have let go of Griffin.

You want a Kobe-stopper? Let's pick up Rodrick Rhodes... he stopped Michael Jordan! [IMG]
