I need to convert an InDesign file (.indd) into HTML. I have access to GoLive if I need it. I tried packaging the .indd to GoLive, but it won't let me save it as html once it gets there.

    Help?

    Please?

    Thanks.

Man, I did a search on your stuff and couldn't find anything... :( everyone says: EXPORT TO PDF and then to HTML... :( WOW.

Are you trying to make a webpage from an indesign file? I am afraid DESKTOP PUBLISIHING is the department next door... we here work on WEB PAGES only... :)

What I mean to say is PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don't think that you can just "make a webpage" out of a desktop publishing file... you will get garbage... just have one of your web dudes create a web page for you that looks similar to the inDesign file...

Really, we had a Desktop Publishing guy do our design... and everyone NOW hates it... desktop != web

I appreciate your effort. Using indesign wasn't my idea at least ;) The funny thing is, I can package the indesign file so that it can be opened in golive, which is a web page utility, isn't it? But once it's in there, it won't let me alter the page at all, or save it as an html (that option is grayed out).

Best option = start over using dreamweaver? :(

Interesting. I'll have to look and see if indesign displays its source code anywhere. Thanks.

I thought you were saying you could open it in GL but not save it.

If that's the case open it in GL, copy paste it into a new GL document and save.

I doubt ID has source code.

    Awesome stuff, Svpernaut.

Yes, not necessarily start over in DW, but see if ID or GL let you "view-source". When you preview as WEB PAGE (if possible), "view" and "borrow" the code.

If GoLive or InDesign have preview versions, I will give them a try. Sorry about my post, man... just tryin' to help... i have had my run-ins with desktop publishing dudes who say: "You want it in Pixels [add lisp]? I don't know pixels...[lisp]"
