OK guys I know we're all Houston fans here but lets face it the Texans f'd up by not taking Reggie Bush. I mean seriously if Mario was even showing SIGNS of a J. Kearse or J. Pepper then yeaah it was worth the RISK to pass up a REGGIE BUSH, but the dude hasn't DONE JACK! and wait .... are we going to hang on to this slim though that he mite EXPLODE like DAVID CARR? for the past 5yrs? again .... You can tell right away that Demeco Ryans is a PLAYER and was worth the draft pick but cant be said the same for Mario when you're the #1 pick. He doesnt have a quick first step and he doesnt even make PLAYS! he mite end up with only 3 sacks this yr. Then we have David Carr here who for sure is not $8mil per year ... maybe next yr if Culter takes over the DENVER offense we can bring in Jake Plummer. The Texans probably committed to much on Carr/D. Davis that they went with the D'fense side, but out of Pepper/Bush/Carr/Mario with 2 #1 picks we ended up with the 2 WORST! They should have a new HEB commerical that has CLEMENS n PETTITTE roasting CARR on a bbq grill and say "HE'S DONEEE!!!"
It might have only been 1 game (or 5 if you include the preseason) but that hasn't stopped Demeco Ryans from impressing the heck out of me. Why can't Mario be like that?
Why are you bringing Carr into this? The way he looked yesterday, I'll take him over Plummer. Carr cant win with some people.
Different players progress at different rates. Carr was given a few seasons before the hate started pouring down. Yao was shown plenty of patience (by the fans...not the media). Hell even Eddie Griffin was given second and third chances. But Mario Williams catches heat after his FIRST NFL game. And it's all because of that #2 pick who shall remain nameless.
does yao still suck? was he worth the risk over jay williams? apples and oranges but since you are being a spaz I will bring it up.
This is completely irrelevant, but since this thread is worthless, I may as well post it in here. Remember that cant miss tackle, Robert Gallery...the dude blows.
Let's not forget the fact that out of the 7 or 8 VETERAN defensive linemen that the Texans are rotating he was second in tackles with 3 (2 unassisted and 1 assisted). Maybe we should be bashing Payne, Johnson, and company since they they have been around a little longer. Give the guy a break.
nobody's saying that mario sucks.......but i'll be the first to admit that it was a stupid stupid pick.
