I've started work again to find out that I can not load any software onto my school computer. I can not install these programs for my job that I have acquired through my job. The computer techs have told me that they are backed up for weeks and cannot get to my computer anytime soon. I need the apps so I can create my lessons. Does anyone have any idea where I can find the password on my computer. In the past, I have been able to find password through .ini files and .sys files, but this system has got me stumped. Any hackers out ther that can help?

good luck. Its going to need trial and error.

You can do two things ...

Guess. If you work for a company that has hundreds of computers, they obviously use a naming scheme. It will either be one set password throughout the company or it will be something to reflect that paticular computer (try serial numbers or such)

You could also "manually" install the program. If you have a CD burner, copy over all the files (just like on your home computer) to the CD. Save them on your work computer exactly like that. This would include getting all .dll files and such spread throughout the computer (GOOD LUCK ON THAT! HA). You will probably have to add registery info also. This usually will not work, but you could always try.

    try "password" or "administrator"

you'd be surprised at how many times that is used..

also does the computer have an asset tag? maybe the asset tag number is the password. asset tag is a number that identifies the PC....

what are some of the other passwords on other PC's, do any of your teacher friends have their passwords? if they do maybe it's a variation of their passwords...

I know there's something you can do with Linux to get through this. Let me see if I can find that article again, and I'll post.

If its legit software, and it is critical for your job, why not elevate the request to your department head (or the IT head). I haven't seen an IT department yet that will keep end-users from doing their job for weeks. Those guys wouldn't be around very long if they did...

Or, are you trying to install software that isn't approved? ;) If your admins/techs are resticting admin access to your computer, its likely to really piss them off when they find out you are trying to "hack" in to your PC or bypass the procedure that is there for a reason...I wonder how much attention your future requests will recieve...

Most of the "hacks" available that have been mentioned are not for the novice user and don't include a wizard-driven interface. At best, they are inconsistent, and sometimes end up doing more harm than good in the end. There ARE legit tools which accomplish this task, but usually cost upwards of several hundred dollars...

If all else fails, a bribe never hurts :D
