Hi everyone...I'm looking into buying some dumb bells and I was hoping you good folks could give me some suggestions. The seemingly great brands like Power Block or BowFlex costs an arm and a leg and I don't think I need something that fancy.

Does anyone have suggestions on affordable dumbbells that I can possibly adjust myself? Looking into $50-$100 range for weights that can hopefully go from 5lbs to 50lbs. Let me know!

I liked the idea, but like you, found the price to be ridiculous.

Keep an eye on craigslist and you can probably get a set of hex weights and a rack for around 100-200.

You won't find anything you're looking for in that price range.

regular dumbbells run about a dollar a pound, so getting a set of regular 50 lb ones will be about 100 bucks, therefore adjustable ones won't be that cheap.

This. I believe my 30 lbers from academy costed me 55-60 for the pair. About a dollar per pound sounds about right.
