Too many minutes for the starters, and they start to drag in the 4th quarter, and for the love of Pete, why is Bonzi starting instead of Luther?

The team had a good chemistry going when TMac was out and Bonzi was coming off the bench, but when Bonzi is starting, his lack of defense is hurting this team.

Sure he got 14 points today, but whenever he comes in the movement stops.

PLEASE stop playing Bonzi so much...and get Head some run if Tmac is not starting.

AND REST THE STARTERS IN THE 2ND HALF.....Brooks, Landry & Luther need minutes too.

    Thanks,

    DD

I agree, Bonzi needs to play less. He just doesn't have the hands to hold on to the ball, shoot it consistently or dribble it. Get tired of seeing him lose the ball in so many different ways. To make it worse, when he gets to the basket he blows the most layups after hayes.

True, he had a good game. However, something seems to be lacking. Can't put my finger on it. He seems to be a stat-filler but not a game changing kind of player. I know he has his moments, but overall it's rather disappointing to see him play.

    Bonzi had his numbers tonight.

But he sucked badly in the defensive end, especially in the first half. He lost his man easily who went straight to dunk over Yao. He didn't chase back fast enough to help stop the fast break. He didn't rotate.

Bonzi has a quick hand and actually could have gotting several steals per game. He is also quick enough to hold his positions. He just doesn't have the defensive mentality and doesn't stay focused.

Luther is also a defensive liability. So you never know whether we will get better if start Luther instead. Bonzi could hit his shots today so I will go with him staying on the court.

Bonzi started to matchup against Durant (their SG). He started against San Antonio I guess because he has a reputation for playing well against them. Nevermind that he was absolutely terrible the last time we faced them.

so you want us to sacrifice the game in order to rest the starters? maybe we can just rest them all the way until the lottery.

    uhh...

So did you want to start luther on 6'9" 225 Kevin Durant or 6'9" 235 Jeff Green?

Obviously he's never seen Luther try to pass, dribble or play defense otherwise he wouldn't have possibly made that suggestion, then again that's probably not his worst observation of the year.

Bonzi has to stay in game shape so he can lead us past the Spurs in the WCF.

Haven't you been paying attention for the past two seasons?

This is where stats don't tell the whole story. He's a sieve on defense, takes the team out of the offense and generally has a "I don't give a f@ck" attitude. I hope they are showcasing him to trade him to another team along with James.

Yeah, the stats don't reflect how poorly Bonzi was playing on defense. Just inexcusable things like getting beat down the court in transition, or forgetting to guard his man on an inbounds play, or not contesting his man's jumper.

What is so frustrating about Bonzi are the mental lapses (which is what you're talking about and I couldn't agree more). He can do the things you mentioned very well, and we've seen him do them, but it is erratic. During the playoffs, he focuses and turns it up, but simply doesn't do the same thing all the time during the season. Did he play like that for the Kings?

Bonzi is so bad on defense and he is pretty stagnate on the offensive end.....

It just seems the team is missing something with him in there starting over Luther, and that something seems to be movement.

There is an answer: cede Bonzi to the contender who believe he will put them over the top. Package him with mj. Or Snyder. Whatever. Delete te negative; gain a positive.

BTW - don't worry about the starter's minutes' quantity, worry about the starter's minutes' quality.

    6'5, post game, plays D?

Sounds like Reuben Patterson could've been a nice pickup for us.
