This whole alleged showdown seems to be a Rick Adelman style vs Tmac style.

Both have had considerable success in the NBA both personally and professionally playing their own style.

So, if you had to choose between Rick Adelman's team oriented approach, and Tracy McGrady's considerable talents running the show, which way would you go?

Personally, I think that is exactly what is going on here......Rick wants to play his style, and Tracy wants to play his to get a new deal.

So, as a fan, which style would you choose if you were Daryl Morey and looking out for the good of the franchise?

TMac - huge individual talent, passes well, would help the team win more games this year but may walk at the end of the year.

    or.

Rick Adelman - building for the future with the current guys, letting them develop and playing the team game.

Personally, I choose Adelman...what about you?

I go with the first. It's the individual show down which attracts a large crowd and $$. To hell with Adelman.

What I don't understand is... isn't NBA for entertainment? How does one get entertained watching a bunch of rookies develop over a long period of time. It's gonna take years before we see any of these players play at the elite level. I want to get entertained now, I want to see T-Mac play NOW! :)

How is this better for the Rockets, that McGrady's value bottoms out?

Don't load the poll questions please. I'm for trying to win the most games possible. If Tracy's the better player, then he should play. Keeping him out doesn't let us evaluate where he's at.

I don't like the "see no evil" coaching approach, though I think Adelman has done a great job this season. Now, make sure we're doing everything to win. They don't call them prima donnas because they're the ugly, bad ones.

Usually I'd go with the great talent, but considering TMAC is no longer that, and RA is arguably a top 3 coach, I'll have to go with RA on this one.

I am not bashing him at all, I am just reading the situation, and commenting.

And the fact that I put a poll up there gives fans a chance to let their feelings on the matter be known.

    I don't disguise anything...I voted......

Not loading at all, I am looking at the situation like the organization is.....what should they do?

Play the guy that will get maybe 5 more wins this year and then walk, or develop the young guys....

That is really the choice here.

Just play him and cut battier min's....If he dosent play RA's style, then sit him on the end of the bench with JT.

I won't think this is right. Otherwise, TMac won't be still looking for the first game of his career in a second round series.

    Lol awesome...

One of my first posts half a year ago was insinuating that Adelman was not able to coach a "star" player. (That may be the one that got me promoted to member)

Of course, I didn't believe it wholeheartedly, and still don't, but there is something strange about him and his nba history.

However, I vote that we continue with Adelman.
When we have the money, Morey will manage to put together an incredible cast of players for Adelman to work with and that will eventually = championship.

Here you go again... What is the point of this thread? You're making it seem like it's a two-way street.
No **** everybody wants a team-oriented style of play. You make it seem like it's impossible with McGrady in the lineup.
    The two can be meshed.

You're basing this decision off a few questionable quotes. We don't know if Yahoo is reliable.. This is the first we've heard of this situation.

Is this your way of trying to get everybody to jump on DD's wagon? The way you worded this thread is very biased.
You're like the FOX news of Clutchfans if 'get-rid-of-Tmac fans' we're republicans.

Not at all, I am asking the fans if they had this choice, what would they do?

This is purely an excercise in how people would handle a delicate situation like the one Morey may currently be facing.

Feel free to participate or not.....

Ya, I got this gist as well. Also, I dont quite agree with the 'RA building for the future' vs 'TMAC help the team win now' wordage.....I think a simple RA or TMAC poll would have been good enough.

I voted RA but not because of his building for the future, sure I love him, but if TMAC was still a top 10 talent, I'd still have gone with him. What is the future of the Rockets with no stars? Sure he's developing the role players, but without a true star, we still have no future. The problem is TMAC is no longer that star anyways, which kinda makes its a moot point. With TMAC clearly regressing, and having gone through microfracture surgery, this is really not a contest anymore.
