No, he's saying that the possibility of using T-mac for tomorrow is as likely as making a trade. In other words, sure, anything is possible, but it's not going to happen.

I do not dislike TM, but Adelman is looking more like an ******* everyday.

I mean there's only two scenarios here.

T-mac has been really quiet since his "talk" with Adelman - who admited to having a role in the "miscommunication".

One, everything is simply that t-mac isn't ready and is working his way back. That the discontinuity was that T-mac's definition of being back and Adelman's definition are different. Based on last year, I think that's entirely the case. And T-mac has now just shut up and working to get to Adelman's standard so he can play.

The other is that Adelman basically said they are working out a trade and T-mac needs to shut up until then and he should just carry the company line until it's done and T-mac is playing along.

I think the first is 99% and the second is 1%

if the inside people, in this case adleman and the team, know tmac won't be traded, then it's not a bad joke. I think a valued employee wouldnt take it personally if a boss joked about firing him. The fand and media are the ones who run with it and turn it upside down.

Trading him for some valuable pieces in return is as likely as he would be immediately cleared to play against the Pistons tomorrow, that being said, he's nowhere near coming back to action.

But, the problem is what Adelman's definition is. If his definition means 'a game changer' like MJ, Tmac might never reach it.

He has said it. He's said he doesn't want last years t-mac, he was explosive t-mac

 

Judging by Adelman's response, it sounds like McGrady WILL be traded very soon. He wasn't supposed to say it, but it was accidental. He then covered it up by saying they would trade for a player for a day which isn't even a funny joke. Adelman is classless.

 

I think he is more referring to T-mac being able to play with the intensity and hustle the rest of the team does.

Believe it or not, in many ways, that is a lot more physically demanding of one's knee that being able to dunk and be a game changer.
