    From his latest "Ramblings" column:

As one of the 20 diehard NBA fans left on the planet, I don't think I've ever been happier to be dead-wrong about anything than this whole "Yao Ming in Houston" thing. How do you say "Good times" in Chinese?

    He also adds:

Speaking of Yao, I love when Yao gets quoted in the newspaper through his translator, but they're always ridiculously stiff quotes like, "I talked with Steve Francis after the game, and I told my diminutive 6-foot-1 friend to be more forthcoming with the ball, and that good things would happen, that we would eventually bathe in our own success."

Of course, it could be that he's just happy to be wrong because he likes making fun of that way Yao high-fives, but I'm going to choose to be an optimist about The Sports Guy's intentions. ;)

That's funny; everyone else is always saying they appreciate Yao's quick wit and classy demeanor.

I love the "as one of 20 diehard NBA fans left on the planet." Bill Simmons is great. He does seem to be one of the only writers who actually loves to write about the NBA over any of his other assignment. His NBA Draft articles (with his Dad and two dogs) were the funniest things I've read in awhile.

The part about Yao's interviews makes you wonder what Yao will sound like when he starts speaking in English.

One wonders if he'll start sounding like Dream:

"Fockass Francis. Gif me da ball. I am unbeadabull"
