    A. Everett has been sent to AAA. Brad Lidge was called up to bolster the bullpen and we now carry 12 pitchers. Can't say I blame them given the struggles of both our starters and relievers. We might need to carry 14 or 15 pitchers! :)

Man, that sucks. I guess Lugo is the starter?

Why in the world would we send Everett down and kepp Lugo up? Lugo is so bad. I mean even if we say neither of them can hit, at least Everett is not an error waiitng to happen.

Decision makes sense... Lugo might be a terrible fielder, but Everett's a worse hitter and didn't look fantastic defensively. SS is a real problem :(.

Man I despised that mofo last year during the Braves series. Nothing but idiotic mistakes. Everett looked good for a while but now we'll have to settle for Julio "Oops" Lugo.

    Damn.

    Lugo- 7 games 0 errors
    Everett- 14 games 2 errors

Yeah Lugo messed up, but he's not the reason we didn't win that series last year. It's the whole teams fault. For better or worse, we're stuck with Lugo. At least he can hit. With Everett, all we have is another Tim Bogar in the making. He will always be the "Slick fielding SS with the questionable bat." I'm positive Lugo will be better defensively this year. Hopefully, Chris Burke can learn to play SS, then while Biggio is still around we can look for a good SS in the draft or find one in Venezuela. Then, when Biggio retires, we move Burke to 2B and hopefully this non-existing fantasy SS can move up to the Majors.

WTF!? Lugo sucks ass. If he doesn't have any errors this year, he damn well should. I can recall a few times where he blew a play and cost us a run. Oswalt took the credit, but if Lugo was a good defender those runs don't score. I liked Everett's defense despite your opinion.

I'll go without a good hitter in place of a good defensive shortstop.

I read that Everett had more options, so they had to send him instead of Lugo. He should be back in a few weeks I think.

Also, this lidge kid is supposed to have dynamite stuf. I think he has a hard sinker or something like that.

Brad Lidge has one of the best sliders you will ever see.

What that ball does should be illegal - if he stays healthy, he's going to be a dominant pitcher.

I agree entirely...we're getting absolutely zilch out of Everett, and it's not like his defense is winning us games. Lugo, though I'm not much of a fan of him, is batting around .270, nearly 100 points higher than Everett...that's about a hit more in every 10 at bats. If Everett were playing like Rey Ordonez or Vizquel, that would be one thing...but so far I haven't been dazzled by his glove as we were told we would be.

This is exactly what I was concerned with since the season ended last year...Everett doesn't have to be a triple crown winner...but he does need to bat above or at least at the Mendoza line. .180 ain't gonna cut it.
