if the rox were able to get Rashard Lewis in a sign and trade deal, of course he would have to take a pay cut, which would be great, but rare, hey it might happen, ya never know, he would have to start.......who would u hope to start for the rockets?

i say the best possibility would be if we got rid of rice and cato's ridiculous contracts and gave KT up.....my team would look like this....definite WC Finals!

    C-Ming/Collier/Willis
    PF-Griffin/Taylor
    SF-Lewis/Nachbar/Morris
    SG-Mobley/Torres/Nachbar
    PG-Francis/Mooch/Maddox

    THOUGHTS?:D

Dude, have you not been reading these threads lately? There's been about a hundred people explain why we can't get Lewis. He's too damn expensive and has yet to prove himself for the kind of $ he thinks he's worth.

    Dude,
i know just wanted to throw it out there again, if Lewis really wants to come home and play in Houston, then its really up to him.........he's just tryin to get as much as he can right now, he's not gonna get that max from the sonics or anyone else so he could take a paycut and come home to houston

I think Lewis expects the max $. I hope the Sonics give it to him and tie up cap money long term-6 or 7 years. I do not want Lewis now.....

I don't want Lewis. He's a scorer, and we have plenty of those on our team. We don't need another person who is going to steal shots from Ming, Griffin, Taylor, Nachbar, Mobley, and Francis. We already have offense. We don't need to waste our money on another offensive player who can't play decent defense.

He needs too much $. Big scorer, like mentioned, we have that already. if we look for anyone, it would be for defense

Why are so many of us having such difficulty taking off our acquisition hats and putting on our producing hats. As is reflected by our payroll, we have a very talented team and we should just concentrate on producing. CD has done his part and now it up to the coaches and the players to deliver.

I dont think there is anything wrong with fans wanting Lewis on the team.

that's what we like to call hometown pride.

however, I dont see it happening.

If the rockets were to get lewis, nate mcmillan would be on the bench crying, again (old school basketball fans, should remember that).....similar to Rashard, when the Rockets skipped over him in the draft.

Stop the madness. The Rockets have far too many players as it is. I think that the Rockets can go to war with the team they have right now and certainly make the playoffs.

    Ming
    Taylor
    Rice
    Cat
    Francis

    will start.

    Cato
    Griffin
    Thomas
    Nachbar
    Norris

    will come off the bench.

Assuming that Taylor and Rice are healthy, this is going to be a pretty solid team.

If the Rockets could trade Cato, Taylor, and Rice, I would be all for it, but somehow I don't think that anyone is going to take these contracts off of our hands (no matter how much we may wish the Knicks would try to get Cato).

First of all, KT cannot and will not play the 3 and Nachbar will not play the 2 either.

Second of all, I don't think there is a team that will give Lewis the max except maybe Seattle, and I doubt they will either. Why would a team give a 16/7 guy the max, if he really wants to come home, he is gonna have to make some sacrifices-$$$$$

A good trade would be Rice/KT for Lewis and a draft pick.

    Ming-Cato-Collier
    Taylor-Griffin
    Lewis-Nachbar-TMo
    Mobley-Torres
    Francis-Norris-Maddox

See ya at the WC finals!!

It all boils down to can

    Rice stay healthy
    Francis stay healthy
    Ming not embarass himself

If so then we will be in the playoffs, but is making the playoffs good enough.......what are we really expecting this year.......

I like that but your roster needs a backup center and Maddox might beat out Torres for Cat's backup.

Great to have Lewis in Rocks but he wants the max, somewhere around $7 million. Thats too much for a hometown kid, unless he really wants to compromise, But then again, I don't think he is that stupid to go for less dough!!!
