It's quite evident that this team needs a legit post player. Someone who would also be a threat off a pick and roll or a pick and pop to make life easier for James Harden and Jeremy Lin. Essentially having more scoring options on the floor. Question is.. solve the problem this season even if he's not really the best front court player or wait for next season when Dwight and company would be free agents? Note: I may have missed some names who you would prefer to have on our team. Didn't include certain players since they either won't be free agents in the near future or not being rumored to be traded.
They should have kept him and amnestied him at the end of this season if they wanted to acquire another max player. But taking a risk and amnesting him before the season to have cap space in the hope that Howard would be traded here was wasted. Although the defence would suffer, having Scola complement Asik on the block would have helped the rockets so much.
Al Jeff stinks. He's good at the post but he's a blackhole with below average defense. I'd rather have Paul Millsap.
None of the above. Howard and Paul aren't realistic options and Jefferson, Millsap or Smith won't get this team anywhere.
Get Millsap, he is the best of the bunch and would put this team in the playoffs instantly. Don't think we have th pieces to do it, Parsons would have to be included as with either of Royce/TJones/PatPat. I'd be ok with giving Royce and Parsons for Millsap.
I guess he's not on your list, but if we were to trade for someone I'd rather trade for Love (I imagine he won't be traded though). We need another scorer and I think he would compliment Asik really well.
This is the problem when you have 4 power forwards on the team. Someone will eventually end up not getting minutes. It's always the rookie who'd be at the far side of the bench. Unless his name is Anthony Davis or something.
I'd actually prefer to have one of our rookie(or Patterson) develop into that legit big instead. If we're going for a big trade, I think it's better to go with a SF, because I think Parsons and Asik represent too big a liability on offense when playing together. My dream scenario for the Rockets Starters: Asik, Developed PF, above average SF traded to us as a salary dump, ala Granger, Harden, Lin Bench: some big guy at center, Morris as a 3/4, Parsons as a 2/3, hopefully a legit backup PG
