Every year or so a select few players suffer ACL tears. A few I can think of are Josh Howard(back next season), Shaun Livingston(bad stuff), but a player I've recently had my eye on is Jeff Pendergraph..

Pendergraph tore his ACL in preseason and was waived by the Blazers to open up the roster spot. I watched this guy play last season and was completely jealous that the Blazers some how kept finding usefull big men to fill the void of Oden. He was a fan favorite in Portland for his pregame ritual to pump up the team, and the kid has a great NBA body. He's strong, agile, and has hops but is slightly undersized at 6'9".

IDK if the rockets would even have minutes for this guy, but I would'nt balk at signing him(especially if we moved some of our bigmen this summer).
I just honestly don't know how players respond to this surgery now days. I guess I'm just wondering/asking what the odds are that this guy returns to his previous form by next season(if not next season how long does it usually take), and what players have had this surgery before that either had big impacts or lost their career??? I'm just looking for some insight on the subject..

    Here's the obligatory highlight reel...
