I understand exactly how you feel. The first time I went there it was on one of those extremely controversial topics (I won't say what it was, for fear of this becoming about that topic), and when I did, my jaw dropped at some of the views in there. Not only the views, but the lack of reasoning for having such "different" views....it was definitely depressing. And whenever I do see a highly debatable topic, I end up pulling an Abraham just like you: Spoiler
Its definitely a circle jerk in there. Someone needs to create a gop troll account just to give some of them them something to focus their energies on. Oh and start a thread on cyber-bullying just to compare the pc answers thats spouted and the actual behavior that is displayed
Don't be squeamish, I remember that thread well: "Obamacare funding for married homosexual abortion providing atheists at Guantanamo". That was quite a debate, and a discussion.
