I admit I had my doubt about George W., but I have an all new respect for the man. The speech was stern, angry, reassuring, sad, joyous, and vigilant all at once. Great speech.
Best Speech I have heard in my 1/7.14285714285714285714285714285714th of a century lifetime I have lived.
My wife and I don't like Bush at ALL, but we found it to be a really good speech. I will say that we thought it sounded better (we listened on radio) than it looked when we saw the replay, but, overall, good job.
I consider myself a Liberal, and I was VERY impressed with Bush's speech. What I wasn't impressed with was Hilary's behavior. I'm not sure who else noticed, but her and Bush didn't even shake hands. I saw Bush kiss alot of the females present on the cheek, yet he and Hillary merely said hello. I also saw Hilary roll her eyes a couple of times and seemed like she wanted to be somewhere else. She was clapping less than enthusiastically also. I think Hilary, and maybe Bush also, need to drop personal grudges aside. I was so disappointed to see Hilary act that way.
Call me crazy, but I will never be impressed with someone reading a speech that he/she did not write. That's one of the reasons I don't like to participate in politics.
Ok guys dont dig too deep into me here, but I agree with theFreak. I mean, "You Too could read speeches like this and all you have to do is become prez and have someone write them for you". The speech was good and all, and Im not digging into Bush, but the man had no part in it. He only read it from a paper. If my Grandpa was prez he'd be reading the same thing.
You are Crazy Who knows if he wrote any of it? Don't you think that something this big he would have reviewed and maybe helped write? I wish he would have used the word strategatory more though.
