It's on sale for $4.99 (dvd) at Best Buy. I don't know why both of these movies haven't had an updated DVD or Bluray Disc. No digitally remastered DVDs like Star Trek? These are classic movies that people should share with the people they love.
to me it is no contest... "Above the Rim" wins hands down. That had to be one of the hottest soundtracks ever... in fact when i was running at the gym this morning - I was blasting the "Anything" remix by SWV - which reminded me of some of the bball scenes from the movie...
He Got Game is a pretty good movie, but it's nothing compared to the greatness that is Above the Rim.

Well said. I love Denzel, Jesus Shuttlesworth and Rosario but Above the Rim was just dope. From the soundtrack to Tupac and Marlon Wayans to the last scene with Duane Martin playing for Georgetown. Love that movie. Plus, how can you not go for the movie that had Regulate as it's soundtrack?
If Ray Allen was a Rocket there would be no point for this thread. He got game was amazing, not as good as the sixth man, the replacements, or remember the titans, but still a damn good movie.
I don't think it's even close.....Above the Rim beats He Got Game in every category, and twice in music. Plus, it's got TWO legends who passed before their time (2Pac and Bernie).
YOU of all people know what represents the Hood? Explain to me the struggles of the hood in your youth. I, along with many others on this board would like to know.
