i have an upgrade and i've always wanted a nice phone so im about to splurge and get myself the droid. if you don't know its verizons version of the iphone. it operates on the android 2.0 system and seems pretty cool. i checked out some of the features and apps and have played with it in the store and i like it alot. has anyone gotten one? i dont want to be like the guys that bought the iphone when it first came out and had to deal with all the problems with the operating system. so if you have one let me know what you think about it!

I work at Best Buy Mobile and every time I activate one, I get jealous and contemplate paying the early termination fees and signing up with Verizon... If that doesn't say enough for the Droid's case, maybe the fact that I'm an iPhone user does. Moto hit a home run with the Droid.

I don't have one, but I am a Verizon wireless employee. I've spent a lot of time with the phone, and it is fantastic. I want one (and I have an iPhone...).

How expensive is the monthly service for it? I'm up for a new phone too, and considering the Droid. I just don't want a ridiculous monthly service fee to have it.

I'm thinking long and hard about ditching my 2G iPhone for the Droid. I miss being able to actually make calls (stupid AT&T), and I could totally use my iPhone as an iPod Touch and have the best of both worlds.

I think I might wait for the HTC Dragon/Passion, though (whenever that drops). Combining the Droid's internals (plus faster CPU!) with the Droid Eris' form factor and Sense UI makes me drool.

I'd wait and get the HTC Passion/Dragon, it's going to have a 1Ghz processor and the droid has the standard 528mhz. Don't get me wrong the Droid is a great phone if you can't wait.

I'm guessing the screen eats up a lot more battery than the other comparable phones, thus less standby time. Talk time is a little higher than the others but not a ton.

from what i've read, the 1ghz snapdragon processor is faster, but the processor droid uses has a designated gpu for graphic processing, making it more desirable for graphic-heavy applications.

i'm still waiting for the next android 2.0 phone with a 3.5mm audio jack from t-mobile :( the droid is fricking sexy though!

That's a good chart up there. Shows you really can't go wrong with any of the best phones out there.

(though Pre's app choices are pretty disappointing compared to Apple and Android.)
