FINALLY! after waiting over a year, Phone Booth, directed by Joel Schumacher is released. Starring Colin Farrell, the thriller was supposed to be released in november, but the sniper shootings in Maryland made FOX postpone the film. Pic is about a slick publicist who uses a pay phone to call his mistress and ends up on the other end of the phone with a sniper. He is told that if he hangs up, he dies. Alot of plot twists and the fact that the movie takes place in real time in and around the phone booth make for a great experience at the movies. Check it!
Ooh oooh time for Phone Booth jokes: I heard there was a love story during the movie--he called a phone sex line. I heard he was shot half-way through the movie because he didn't deposit the correct amount of change. You know who I think the sniper is?: . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Actually just got back from seeing this film. I thought it was pretty good. Colin Farrell was fantastic as a sleazy publicist. He may be a total ass in real life, but he's got some decent acting chops. I was always wondering how they were going to fill 80 minutes (yes, it's that short) of Farrell in a phone booth, but they did a surprisingly good job of it. Kept my attention the whole way through, although it's nowhere near as tense as the ads lead you to believe. The ending was a bit of a letdown, though. Still, a pretty good movie.
My sister just saw this movie today and said it was terrible, very predictable, and short (hour & fifteen minutes). I didn't wan't to see it anyway because Joel Schumacher directed it, and his movies usually suck (in my opinion). I always think it is a good idea to remember the director(s) of movies, rather than focus on individual actors, because they are a much better indicator of how much you will like or dislike a movie, and you can determine whether or not to see future releases on this basis.
I'd rather spend my money on a quick hit of crack or decent p*rn. You really think I would waste $10 like that? I might as well go wipe my @$$ with it.
not for me. I just spent my $5.50 on Lord of the Rings TT, I would rather spend my money on Shanghai Knights
$5.50?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! That's impossible. WHERE? That's unbelievably cheap. I remember when $4.50 at any Houston-area AMC theater was expensive.
The movie is barely watchable. =========== spoilers ================ The whole ending is laughable. Colin's pathetic crying scene was downright funny. Why would a sniper stalk out someone who was just THINKING about cheating on his wife? I feel like I've been jail raped by the good folks at Lowe's Fountain theatres.
Hey, you might have thought it sucked ass, but I thought it was pretty good. Apparently, I'm not alone, either. Behold the power of Rotten Tomatoes! Read 'em and weep, bub. Paging RM95... You're needed in the Hangout Forum with a movie review...
Bub, I guess if Rotten Tomatoes says it's good it must be, huh? I'm with the 30% that didn't like it.
well, Phone Booth was number 1 at the box office this weekend, and www.imdb.com users give it 8 out of ten stars. please, any intelligent moviegoers out there who have actually seen the movie..... mr paige, anyone?
Hey, I resent that. I'm an intelligent moviegoer, damnit! (Ok, so I thought Armageddon wasn't completely horrid. That shouldn't make me a brain-dead movie watcher, though. )
word. you were the only one that had seen it. everyone else gave their in depth analysis such as "looks stupid". obviously you could tell that Colin Farrell is a good actor, I wasnt aiming at you, just those who never give a movie a chance then diss it.
