    Is the damm closing cermony ever gonna end ?

    lol ...no really the thing I was wondering about was this.....

    Isn't all the funding for the American athletes from private sources ? I don't think any comes from the govt.

    Wasn't it every 2 years, the Winter Olympics?
    Now they go to Italy in 2006?
    I don't get it...did they change at some point?

    Olympics are every 4 years, but in 1992, the IOC decided to have the Summer and Winter Olympics held in different years.

    Winter
    92 France
    94 Norway
    98 Japan
    02 USA

    Summer
    92 Spain
    96 USA
    00 Australia
    04 Greece
