Well a pretty large disadvantage would be taxes. Do you have dual citizenship ?

I have dual citizenship, Phillippines and US

I got dual by default by being born in the PI and my mom being a US citizen.

And see no advantage

Federal jobs is a biggie for me. Australian citizen, Permanent Resident of the United States. I need to get it done if i want to work for U.S Corp of Engineers or any other position requiring certain security clearances.

I'm right in believing that a Aus-US Dual Citizenship is allowed, right?

 

It depends on the type of job and whether or not you need a security clearance to do it. In a select number of agencies/departments which handle national security matters, and most likely would require a Top Secret clearance, you would have to renounce any other citizenship you might have. But this is limited to the FBI, NSA, DIA and most other agencies in the intelligence community. I believe the same standard applies for NASA.

 

I have Irish / US citizenship. Just did it because I could and dual passports. my Grandparents came over from Ireland which allowed me to do this. I'm in the process of doing it for my daughter

 

I think NASA is fairly ambivalent, no doubt because they do not require secret clearence.
