nothing to do there..... no bars...... nada...... Going to the mall was the highlight of my visit, where I saw an arm wrestling competitinon..... Dude those people get into that ****. Sorry if I have offended any Abilineans.....
I went to college in Abilene. Why, exactly, I'm still trying to figure out. I mean, they gave me a scholarship, but christ, its freaking' Abilene. What the hell was I thinking??
My father trained there to be an engineer in WWII. They used to do stuff like serve all locals in the cafes before serving the servicemen, or made the srvicemen all sit in the balcony at the movies. They were treated like second-class citizens. A few years ago, my father found out that they opened a museum for the 12th Armored Division, and they wrote some garbage about how the the Abilineans...Abilinites...what the h*ll are they called?...welcomed the servicmen into their homes like family.
It's a ghost town. This girl I used to date had family there, so I was forced to visit a couple of times. We had to go into town to get food/supplies. Something just isn't right about that. We're talking a 45 minute drive to get food.
