    Rest easy Rivaldo!

This is really great news. I was expecting the US and the major games being live, but for every game to be broadcast live was unexpected.

Anyone have an idea who ESPN will be sending over to call games?

This is one of the many reasons soccer is so freaking awesome ~ 90 minutes -1- break for halftime. NO COMMERICIALS.

    Sweet!!! That is AWESOME news!!!

I really wish I could take a month leave of absence from work and just watch all the games! I love the NBA, NFL, March Madness, and other sports but nothing compares to the FIFA World Cup.

Maybe we could have a cluthfans World Cup party to watch some of the games. I remember watching the France vs. Brazil final at a sports bar and it was awesome.

I'm afraid an international clutchfans riot would break out if we all met together to watch soccer.

I just read this. Sorry for bumping it, but I think I must say that there is NO WAY non-cable tv viewers will develop the love for my game if they only get to see the few ABC broadcasts. It really sucks that you have to be "rich" to see the entire cup if you don't speak SPANISH in the U.S.A. :(

It's unfortunate but they use the same thinking the NBA is using and that is "the majority of people have cable." I know there are still alot of people who don't have it and it sucks for them but you can't please everyone.

I agree, but they can afford to do this with already-established sports, not with soccer, as it is not as popular as the other major three, and it still has to develop the interest in the youth to be compared with the rest. I believe that if they continue to do this, soccer will still remain at the bottom of the sports interest pool.

EDIT: KingCHeetah, they will have that silly split-screen commercial they do as they did it with the MLS All-star game.

Are you sure about that? The only times I've seen that is during MLS games, all of the US games they show don't have commercials.

    Pfth, screw ABC/ESPN/ESPN2

Univision and their flying RocketsDildo-esque space ship shooting at the "GOL" bar at the top of the wins!

Too bad there's no more Pepe. :(

Get an English-Spanish dictionary. The Univision commentators were a million miles better than the ones for ABC for the 2002 WC. They were funny as hell and were really informative. I will watch Univision because I don't trust ABC/ESPN splitting the screen for commercials, 1) they seem to pick the worst moment to run a commercial and 2) the picture becomes half of what it was.
What Univision needs more of are the Chicas!! Have some kind of Republica Deportivo set up for halftime and in between games. They would have the highest ratings EVER! :)

    Miguel - LOL :D I forgot about Pepe... :D
More than likely Balboa and that other dude.

For Univision, Pablo Ramirez and his sidekick for the main games, and Jorge Perez Navarro and Celis for the simultaneous games.
I hate that split-screen crap they did. :(

Right on the money, plcmts. I can NEVER go to <jingle>univision punto com</jingle> without having my attention span reduced to a few milliseconds of anything else and go check out Las Senadoras yum yum (nsfw).

Where have you seen anything that says they'll be splitting the screen? The only thing I've seen is the article posted by Miguel saying that there will be no commercials. And I've never seen them do that during any international games, just during MLS games.

Of course Univision does have much better eye candy as you mentioned.
