I guess after watching the first quarter of this hornets game, I feel that Brooks may be a defensive liability against our possible point guard opponents in the playoffs Jason Kidd, Chris Paul, and Deron Williams. All of these guards are bigger and stronger than he is and after seeing Paul try to post up Brooks, this might be cause for concern.

With the exception of Kidd (who might beat brooks into the lane or post him up), I could see Paul and Williams single handedly torching Brooks and the Rockets if we don't check them. So should we be giving Kyle Lowry more minutes? Double team? Put Artest on the PG sometimes?

what else is new, I've known that forever, and not do only elite pgs dominate Brooks, but its every pg for that matter, even Barrera

Sure, but what can we do over a potential stretch of 7 games. we need to be able to deal with this issue consistently. Now I'm watching and clearly we are better off with Lowry on the court to guard Paul.

I think if Brooks shows up on the offensive side, we can live with his defensive liabilities. If he has to guard them, he needs to make the opposing PG guard him too.

I'm pretty sure Adelman will be much quicker in the playoffs to bring Lowry in when Brooks is getting beaten on defense and not producing at the other end. We can already see Lowry finishing halves and games in the regular season.

Adelman isn't blind. He sees everything CF posters see plus a lot more. He knows Lowry is better and will not let Brooks cost us a playoff series.

Next year, Lowry will obviously be starting with Brooks coming off the bench if Brooks isn't traded to fill another need. Brooks still has potential to be a good scoring, change-of-pace PG off the bench for us or another team.
