there is an awful lot of aaron brooks hate on this board and i dont understand why, sure he has his bad moments but he wasnt even playing for the rockets last year for gods sake, he was playing in the d-league and garbage time.. this is his first year REALLY playing in the nba and look what hes done so far this series compared to "the best point guard in the league" chris paul aka magic ; ). so fat this series aaron brooks is Game 1: 27pts 7ast 4rb 2to on 10of17 from the field Game 2: 23pts 5ast 2rb 3to on 9of12 from the field 50pts 13ast 6rb 5to on 19 of 29 from the field pretty damn good numbers right??? ok now heres the next magic chris pauls #s so far Game 1: 21pts 11ast 5rb 4to on 7of19 from the field Game 2: 14pts 13ast 4rb 5to on 5of11 shooting 35pts 24ast 9rb 9to on 18 of 30 from the field looks to me like brooks is outplaying cp3 so far and is only behind really in stats, we cant really expect him to out rebound the bigger guards in this league at 160lbs which is more like 150lbs.. hes out scoring chris paul and shooting a slightly better percentage and has LESS turnovers.. with all the talk about brooks making dumb passes he only has 5 turnovers in 2 games while chris paul has 9.. paul has 35pts so far while brooks almost had 30 in game 1. this playoffs brooks has played VERY well so why all the negativity? hes doing his best and his best helped us win one game and almost brought us back into game 2 even with his mistake in the fourth he is NOT the reason roy and aldridge combined for 69pts thats on our defense for allowed a team we previously held to a little over 80 to score 100+ Aaron Brooks has been one of the best point guards this playoffs, with all the talk of derrick rose and chauncey billups Brooks is right behind them and is doing a lot to help us in games with his speed specifically, how tired do u think point guards are after chasing him around on defense, no wonder blake cant score so far this series Brooks > Chris Paul so cut him some slack
What exactly are you trying to say here? If we had Chris Paul instead of Aaron Brooks, we would not have done as well in Portland? Not sure I agree with that. Aaron has played well -- for the most part he's done what we need him to do. But he has a tough job, trying to balance being aggressive (which Adleman wants) with the "patience" to let the offense create good quality shots (which Adelman also wants). If there was one PG I would want him to study in the offseason in terms of getting the right mentality, it's Chauncey Billups.
I Agree that there's alot of AB hatin..but those numbers dont prove much..clearly CP3 is not having his best games..
Chris Paul is the better PG by far. This is stupid because Denver's defense is gearing up to stop Chris Paul because he's the best player on New Orleans. I'm all for being a homer, but this is about being stupid.
First off stats don't tell the whole story. Secondly, Chris Paul is playing against Chauncey Billups - Brooks is playing against Steve Blake, there isn't even a comparison here. There are a lot of ways to pump up Brooks, to suggest he is outplaying Paul isn't one of them.
If you wanted to support Aaron Brooks and respond against the negative threads about him, then do so in those threads. This thread uses r****d logic to justify your anger at the Aaron Brooks detractors. Thus making this thread appear as a hissy fit response to the other threads. In short, you made their dumb threads look smart. Aaron Brooks is not better than Chris Paul, any day of the week. This does not mean Aaron Brooks should get flamed for the loss in game 2 or does it mean you have to make this stupid thread.
LOL, worry about AB> JJ Barea first. Barea helped the Mavs won two none-blowout games, the same can't be said of AB.
LOL. the funny thing about Tmac only funs are they care about scoring stats for most. But basketball is not about one person's shooting, it is about win for the team. if u want to compare AB and Chris Paul, then you have to compare their assists first, because they are POINT GUARDS, for god's sake. also like others mentioned, look at who they play against, and the defence toughness put on them. Damn it , if AB can put up 20 pts per game as he is the double team target as Chris, then Houston has found a jew. But too bad, AB's shoots are opens shots because Yao's double team, and he has no clue so far to create shots for others. so Chris>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>AB
I like Brooks but come on you can't compare two guys like this. I'm pretty sure Chris Paul's numbers would be better if he was playing for Houston instead of New Orleans with the matchups in those series. I'm not so sure Brooks would be doing as good if he was starting for New Orleans. Hell they would not even be in the playoffs.
i don't hate AB. I think he tried his best. It's coach/owner/management faults to let AB start. You have to understand, if your team lost, your individual performance means nothing. AB made two critical TOs in a row at the end of the 2nd game. That offset all good thing he did. that's what actually count.
Looks like clutchfans found they're new scapegoat. Brooks played great until he turned it over on one of the last possesion. They do not seem to remember all the 3's he hit to let us keep the lead for a while.
All I know for sure is that AB would never casually walk to half court and get an 8-second call like Deron did last night. Dude runs everywhere.
Wow what corn cob did you fall on. Brooks is not better than Paul but he is playing pretty good overall and that is a valid point.
You need to read this post again. you realize if people use this dumb logic we'll have something like this: Artest > Kobe so cut him some slack
