I think Bima's salary know how is requested here. First off, how much will Brooks be able to get, how much do we think he is gonna get if he keeps his play up. Can we afford to keep him? My major question! Or do we do with him what the organization did with Tmac? You know how Bima explained it? If we kept Tmac we wouldnt have been in the chase for Bosh and all, have room to make signings and such? Is that the same scenario here? So it was hard to understand at first, why if Tmac wasnt traded, we still wouldnt have salary space. So now, with Battier and Jeffries (and even Yao and Andersen coming off the books as well, how will that effect resigning Brooks. And after that? I have a proposed trade in my sig but its just an idea, anything simlar to what happened last year, i.e. Tmac turned in to cap space for this year and Martin. But a lil light shined on this subject would ease me a bit, for next year at least.
We need to know if there will be a lockout first, otherwise it is difficult to try and guess the NBA Market for when Brooks is expired.
hows that? go back to the wnba with your women rules then if the possiblity of losing brooks to a high salary for nothing is stupid to you.
if you want to put a number on what he would've earned if he was on the market this summer you just have to look at what the other PG's signed for. the most lucrative contract was given to felton (about $7M). i think its fair to say he could've signed for upwards of $8M. the good news is that next year there won't be as many teams with money to spend, and aaron's numbers might drop with a full season of martin and yao.
So after all expirings added in with the pay raises, where would that leave us? I guess depends on Ming and whoelse returns..... See wnba, this is an actualt thought out reply instead of your two word u mad.
Ok, Brooks is arguably as good as Harris, they have same playing style, same defense (lack of), Brooks is a better 3 point shooter, and Harris has a bigger body. AND, MOST IMPORTANTLY, Rockets can prob resign Brooks with 9m a year, which is the contract Harris is on right now. So please tell me why would Rockets want fast forward their payroll in 2 years along with giving up Battier and Jefferies' expiring?
If they trade Brooks, there is no reason to bring in a guy that makes that much money and is not a clear upgrade to Lowry. Unless it's an elite PG like Paul, a trade that involves (Brooks + whatever else) should bring back a greater need, like an upgrade at SF or frontcourt help. Basically, if it's not CP3 since he's the only rumored elite PG that may become available, hand the starting job to Lowry, bring in a cheap backup PG and use Brooks as part of a trade to fill a bigger need.
I just lost 10 IQ points for reading this thread that I really could not afford to lose!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
